Suite/Club Level Upgrades and Related Benefits

I searched for this and couldn't find the thread(s) where this was discussed.

If you are upgraded to a suite or club room and one of the benefits is "club access" and you have 3 in the room and all 3 are registered (and paid for), are all 3 entitled to club lounge benefits including the food offered without an additional person charged for the 3rd?

I have been told at 2 properties that "Your Platinum benefits entitle you to you and one registered guest lounge access and partaking of the related benefits regardless of the fact that the suite I have been upgraded to entitles the guests to access.

Thanks for the help and direction to the thread that this was discussed in.

Please report these two properties to Starwood Lurker. William has stated on many occasions that if you are upgraded to a room with particular benefits, you get those benefits without qualification.

Happy to do so and name them here as well, however, I wanted to make sure I was right (having the reference would help) before mistakenly reporting/naming a property that was not breaking a rule before doing so.

While I am reaching out to the property to follow up on this, I can provide an answer at this point of time: you will receive the same Sheraton Club room benefits as a guest who pays for the rate which besides allowing him or her to stay at the executive suite and at the same time enjoys the Club Room benefits.

You are welcome.

Allow me to clarify further to all our readers that the benefits must come with the rate paid exclusively for the room you are being upgraded to. In addition, if the benefits are not publicly declared, then it is a different issue altogether.

I want to make sure I understand this correctly.

For my next stay, I have been upgraded to a Corner King Suite using SNA's. My pre-upgraded room was a Superior. I have a total of 3 in the room. The reservation is for 3 and there is an extra person/bed fee being paid.

Publicly disclosed on the hotel site under room descriptions is:

"Corner suites, have a generous 76 square meters of space.....Enjoy daily Naga Lounge benefits and privileges"

My assumption is that all 3 in my party are entitled to use of the lounge benefits without additional charge.

Thank you for clarifying the clarification!

How does this work, then, for example with the Grosvenor House in Dubai where certain suites have airport transfers included? I have been upgraded to those suites before, but never been offered the airport transfers (nor would I have felt correct in asking for them), I was just grateful for the awesome suite.

Even though you may feel inappropriate to ask if you will also receive the benefits that come with the suite in which you are being upgraded to, I believe the front desk is there to answer your inquiries. If there is a need, you may like to speak to the SPG coordinator at the hotel.
