Most people people follow W Hotels and especially W resort openings and to be fair not just W or Starwood! They generally get pushed back several times and the fact they were still not accepting reservations is a key sign.

Spg.com is often updated very late in the day as to a delay and is in no way a good indicator of what somewhere may open. I have seen hotels listed as opening at a date in the past on odd occasions.

W Koh Samui accepted bookings and then had to delay and accomodate those people at other properties, it is all par for the course with new openings and usually the more luxury the more the delay!

We are proud to announce that the W Goa is now part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is accepting reservations as of today, August 1, 2016, for future dates on or after October 1, 2016. Please note that since this is a new activation, we will not expect availability on the web until later today.

Despite the constantly delayed openings (which are quite typical for India), I think this property will be a huge hit. Goa is begging for a W-like property.

I still think it'll be the Park Hyatt for me (or any number of the smaller, locally-owned luxury properties hitting Conde Nast/Travel+Leisure of late), as I'm not a W fan, but I do think it's the 'perfect' fit for Goa.

So good to finally see some Starwood properties in Goa.

We used to own some properties in Goa many years ago but more recently have been staying in other brand hotels. I personally have not been back to Goa since 2007 so the Aloft and W may be the perfect excuse!

I am scheduled to arrive in Goa on November 1 but I don't feel secure enough that it will definitely open on that date, I am just going to monitor it for a while and decide later

Anecdotally I was looking at booking the W Goa over Christmas and it was showing availability from December 1st earlier this month. However around 2 weeks ago the first available day moved to Jan 1st. Doubtful that it is fully booked everyday of December so suspect the opening has been pushed back to January 2017.

Looks like Aloft Goa - Calangute is being repositioned as Le Méridien Goa, Calangute. Still opening in April 2017. Nice!

Anyone in here got any inside info on Le meridien Goa. Spg site claims it to be opened in SEP 17, but have been pushed back at least twice already. Also if somebody knows if it's a brand new property or existing hotel i would appreciate the info.

Have a trip to delhi in mid October and would like to spend a few nights by the sea. W not working because of high rates and CAT 6
