Promo : Requalification Gift in 2013 : Double Points or 25%(Gold)/35%(Plat) off award
Hopefully the gift will continue. I made good use of it and requalified for gold last month. Would like to use again.

The first post from last year's gift was in another two weeks. Based on that gauge, we should known by the end of March what the "re-qualification gift" will be for 2014 as well as if they will offer another "surprise gift" for members who stayed at all 9 brands in 2013.

If you don't see anything by the end of the month, don't be concerned. It looks like the gift appeared in April last year and May the year before. Some people in this thread have indicated they "hope" it returns this year, but I do not see anything about Starwood's financials or habits that would seem to indicate we won't receive a gift in 2014. The 2013 gift was at least the 8th straight year they've offered a gift... the quality of the gift for 2014 is likely what most are really concerned with.

A few years ago I got a subscription to the New Yorker as a plat gift...are we talking about the same thing? Or are there two time periods where gifts are given?

This year's gift was 35% off a points redemption or double points for 1 month. Both could be extremely lucrative and definitely a far cry from the magazine subscription and/or $25 award voucher... but yes, the same thing.

very slow travel year for me....will probably not re-qualify till july or august....so i'm in no hurry to use the plat gift if its offered again....
