Anyone want to place bets on how the Vegas hotels will be classified into the SPG Award Categories?
Here are my guesses:
Category 6: Caesar’s Palace, Nobu Hotel at Caesar’s Palace
Category 5: Paris, Rio, Planet Hollywood
Category 4: Bally’s, Flamingo, Harrah’s
Category 3: The Quad
I have no inside information to base those guesses on, just taking a stab in the dark.

Good move, but nights don't count towards life time qualification is the deal breaker for me. What is the logic for counting for 50 night Plat but not life time?

Why is everyone so negative?
While, of course, it could always be a better deal, it's MUCH better vs. nothing, which is what we had yesterday.
I go to LV several times a year, and glad this partnership exists.
(of course, i will be there this weekend, and wish I could start leveraging this deal now)

My brain is working slowly, so bear with me:
I'm SPG Gold, going to LV in January and already had reservations at a Ceasar's property. So now I just give them my *W number when I check in and I receive night credit and starpoints?
Do you choose between starpoints and TR points?

After reading more, I realize we don't get free internet our our Platinum Status will not be recognized.
To sum this up, this is strictly and earn and burn points relationship.

I mean I'll take the points if they happen organically, but it won't be that much a driver for me. I'm guessing the redemption levels will also be high.
Now if this had a status match like the Hyatt-MLife deal, I'd be more interested

I had high hopes when I first read about this... Kind of disappointed.

I was almost ready to cancel my Elara HGV reservation and book Caesars for mid Jan. until I learned that there's no stay credit for Plat qualification. At least I can get full Hilton HHONORS credit and HGV benefits for Diamond at Elara.
Caesars does have some decent promotional rates that I'll consider. As most have mentioned, it's better than nothing, but nothing to write home about or change my stay pattern.

If anyone remembers, back when Westin merged with ITT Sheraton during the creation of Starwood Hotels, Caesars was part of Sheraton/Starwood before it sold the properties to Park Place in 2000. Some of my old SPG cards had Caesars logo on it.
Glad to see it's back in the SPG fold again.

Resort fees will really devalue this partnership for points redemption, especially for the lower end properties. You'll be looking at $15-$25 per night right now, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see that increase in the future.
The Westin Las Vegas does charge a resort fee too, but in practice it is waived for Plats.

Disappointing that nights don't count towards lifetime - that alone is sufficient to make this not interesting to me.
