Four Points by Sheraton San Antonio Airport, Texas [Master Thread]

Stayed here last night with the DW, since I searched for an existing thread and couldn't find one allow me to start one and share my thoughts. This property opened in late 2012 and is located a just west of the airport.

Many of you may agree, Four Points is a real hit or miss, with a some really bad properties, but this hotel hits it out of the ballpark!

When I checked in I was a Gold member and received nice recognition, being greeted by being offered points or a drink chit. I selected the points option. At check-in we were upgraded to a balcony room on the 5th floor.^ Based on my count there are 20 balcony rooms, all of which face loop 410. Facing Loop 410 made the balcony a bit loud. The DW and I had no problems with car noise inside the room, but some may.

Hotel is clean, modern. Nice limestone accents outside and in, as well as wood in the lobby. Beds were comfortable, room modern, but not Aloftish. They did have the soap and shampoo dispensers mounted on the shower wall, which turns me off.

The bar had a weak selection of beer. Breakfast was a small buffet, $8.95 for scrambled eggs, bacon and fried potato slivers as well as pastries. Seeing that we were visiting SAT I opted to shoot over to the Taco Cabana and pick up some breakfast tacos, which I brought back to the room and we enjoyed eating on the balcony.

Several restaurants are nearby, everything from Applebee's to Cracker Barrel and Pappadeaux's. Northstar mall is maybe 4 blocks away. For those who aren't familiar with Loop 410, it is not pedestrian friendly and Applebee's is really the only easy walk.

Staff was great, property nice. This is my new home when visiting family in SAT, DW agrees. Best part, with this stay I am once again a Platinum!

Four Points by Sheraton San Antonio Airport, Texas

Have stayed numerous times this past year at this hotel and agree its a great value . Been suite upgraded twice as gold, and customer service has always been very good.Their complimentary airport shuttle bus will take you to Walmart or nearby restaurants. As an example of their customer service, my friend was going to visit me from San Antonio and I booked her a room, but needed the hotel to let her park her car there. They have a stay and fly program but I needed extra days. Talked to the hotel manager and for $20 total they were willing to cover the days needed. This was a very good deal. There also is a pool and outdoor patio w fireplace !!!
