Question

In this day and age, it makes no sense.

I dont understand why this can't be handled technically.

Why not make the folio available electronically via the SPG app or right on the TV in the room?

This way is you're having any issues, you can call down and take care of them while packing or doing whatever.

I think it was an honest mistake. They had written the correct room number on the back of his, just delivered it to the wrong room.
Good example of why they are moving away from hard copies under the door.

I recall an extensive thread in this forum on this very subject; folks concerned about personal privacy, etc..., not just mixed statements, but ones that don't go all the way into the room and could possibly be read by others.

Cheers,

Cheers,
These two threads should probably be combined.

Because I need it for my expense report. I'm fine making it on request, I'm not fine with absolutely refusing it.

I asked again today and told it was an official Sheraton policy. Lurkers, can you confirm this is a brand standard/corporate mandate?

E Folio gives our guests the advantage of reviewing their hotel charges directly on smart phones or computers and having access to their receipts at their own convenience, even prior to checking out and usually by 4:00AM allowing for a review of hotel charges. It also creates a smoother departure while decreasing our environmental impact by reducing paper waste.

For NAD properties, guests should be informed upon check in that he/she will be receiving an electronic receipt and if they want a paper copy to stop by the desk to pick up a copy.

I did a quick search of FT (after confirming that Club Floor rooms were for sale after being told they had none available) and couldn't find an announcement of this. Perhaps I missed it and my search skill are poor - is this a new corporate policy? No hard copy folios to go along with no web access to print them?

Anyone else get a copy under your door since 1/1?
Under door except when I asked for email at check-in: W Los Angeles

No more hard copy receipt/folios under door - Starwood Corporate Policy?

I stayed at Le Meridien in Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Jan 2013 and in both instances, there were no paper copies under the door. I did have to stop at the front desk to hand in my Green Choice vouchers.

Cheers

It is in North America, for sure. Some other divisions seem to be rolling it out as well. Thyetus posted the official Starwood statement above, so I don't have much more I can add than this.

Due to my expense reporting-I need to print and submit. So if I am Saving the hotel money-and costing ME money-maybe they could offer me something.

How about decline:
Housekeeping 500pts
Folio 100pts
Hot shower (only warm available) 350pts
USA today 85pts

And as a special-only available at Sheraton on the Falls-decline the above, AND wash dishes for 10 minutes and receive lounge access!

I am against this-if it is policy!

I've seen a credit of around 0.95 USD for declining delivery of the newspaper, although it says at participating hotels and every hotel I brought this up with they said we are not participating. So why put it there if no one is participating.

The Westin Pittsburgh offers guests a choice of electronic or paper folio (electonric is default). I also have to turn in a copy for my expense report so take advantage of their printer.

If it's an expense to print, why don't you just add the extra few pennies it costs to print to your expense claim? Problem solved.

I'm the same. Either they print it or I print it...it saves no paper. However, it adds 5-10 minutes in the morning because it seems like everyone is checking out at the same time

I talked to my ambassador and she put a note in my profile saying i want a printed copy under my door all the time. Stayed at a westin (moana surfrider waikiki) and a le meridien since the note, and ive gotten a paper copy each time.
