SPG Power Up Terms and Conditions

Earning: Members must register online at spg.com/powerup by February 28, 2013, midnight ET. Members can earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints® after every four eligible nights, up to a maximum of 8,000 bonus Starpoints after 16 eligible nights. Members can earn an additional 10,000 bonus Starpoints once they have stayed 20 eligible nights. Members may earn a maximum of 18,000 total bonus Starpoints for eligible nights from January 15, 2013, through April 15, 2013 (the "promotion period").

Bonusing: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member's account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts that includes the 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th eligible night. Bonus Starpoints will be awarded after the complete stay posts, regardless of when the qualifying nights within a given stay occur.

Eligible Nights: An eligible night is a night at any of the over 1,100 SPG-participating hotels and resorts paying an eligible rate during the promotion period. Nights do not have to be consecutive and can be accumulated across multiple stays. An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest® program. SPG-participating hotels and resorts and a description of eligible stays and eligible rates can be found at spg.com under program terms and conditions. See Section 1.4 b iii for the complete definition of eligible rates, but note that certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com) are not eligible rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify toward promotional earnings.

Qualifications and Starwood Terms: All promotions are subject to the Starwood Preferred Guest program terms and conditions, which are subject to change without notice and can be found at spg.com. Offer is applicable to individual members only and not to groups. Not responsible for omissions or typographical errors. Starwood reserves the right to discontinue this offer at any time. Thank You! (And let the fun begin. ;) )

across all hotels and resorts in the SPG program
Really nice to see an empty non-participating list!

Not too bad of a promo, unfortunately I do not really stay much during this period.

William,

You're doing everything you can to help me get to the Gold Lifetime status in the coming year, I'm short by 14 nights. I fully intend to reach that target before April 15th! ;)

This will be good for those with lots of nights in the time period but who like to maintain multiple hotel statuses... b/c after 20 nights, there is 0 benefit. So, you can hit your 20, and then not have to debate if there is another "better promo" at another chain.

20 nights = a 900 per night point bonus... with no opt outs - i'll take it!

obviously there will be some who say its not generous enough, but thats the trade off i suppose when have 100% hotel participation

Overall, excellent promo! ^

Will Reward and Cash and Points stays count too?
I've never understood why the promotions don't start immediately after the last one ends. Is my loyalty not appreciated for the two weeks between the end of the Better by the Night promotion and the start of this one? It would be nice if my nights between Jan 1-15 counted too, as that will probably be the difference for me of reaching the 20 nights.

Ton of stays booked already

Hang on a second. Do you hear that..................silence from the perpetual SPG critics.
Can it be?

William-quick-go and buy a lottery ticket. You are the luckiest man alive for coming up with a promotion that does not get flamed in the first 5 minutes!

:D

How does this promo fare compared to the previous double pts / triple points?

Both are very good promos

With this one you do not have the multiplier effect when staying 2 or 3 nights in a row

This one is better for me

Not bad. I won't travel as much in 2013... this definitely works better for the hotel hoppers (3 hotels in 3 nights in a city) :)

I'm a big SPG fan but maybe I'll be the first naysayer. OK not really naysayer...the promo seems fairly good. For some reason my initial reaction was "Only 18,000 points?" I have an intrinsic feeling that I've typically earned more points than this during other Q1 promos. I don't have any empirical evidence to support that though.

Stacked with the Le Meridien promo though, this does make for a pretty sweet January / February.
