I certainly benefit from them on business travel, and on a reasonable amount of leisure travel as well.

There's a big difference between hardly being there to enjoy Plat vs. being in a position to have 50 nights + or 25 stays dedicated to leisure in areas where one hotel company has good options available.

Business gets me to 50-60 nights, personal travel sometimes bumps it up past 75.

Mostly business...say 40-45 nights a year, then 10+ for leisure. I'm enough of an addict that if I have a conference at a non-starwood hotel and I can find a starwood alternative within walking distance I will stay there.

Another leisure traveler here too. Glad we reached Lifetime Plat as it was getting more difficult to reach the stay/night level each year due to retirement and economy putting a damper on our travel. No more mattress runs and that's great!!!

same here. and loved the fact now personal travel on points count towards status. it is so easy to get lifetime gold but quite challenging to get life time platinum, happy on both ends.

Almost all business...

...and I redeem for leisure.
I sure miss the wide availability of C&P, as i used to make 50% of my holiday bookings using it.
Not so widely available anymore

It's really encouraging that there are so many 100% leisure travellers here with status. And that some have been doing mattress runs too. Makes me feel less "silly" which is what some have called me :P

Mostly business...I'd say 90/10. About 80 nights last year. Probably around 110 nights by this year's end.

Having someone else pay for status is very nice, but there's a big price to pay for being away from your family.

100% leisure having moved most of stays from Hilton to SPG in 2010 due to Diamond devaluation. I'll make over 100 nights (and therefore gain an Ambassador) in 2012.
