I'm very surprised by this thread.

I don't even have 50 leisure nights a year, never mind in a hotel.

Doesn't necessary mean one was off those days. I myself might be off at 4pm from work and decide to go to San Francisco. Have some drinks and decide to stay the night at a hotel. Next morning wake up and go to work.

Before C&P/points stays counted, it was 100% business for me. Now that they count, it's about 50-90% business. It just depends on how you count the requal - whether it's stays or nights.

I was introduced to SPG by a friend. I don't travel for business. First year I did enough travelling to hit Gold. The next year I pushed it to Platinum. It was hard work - I had to change hotel every day in some cases.

It's been worth it so far!
Traveling purely for business. Finally going on pleasure after having hit Platinum with the points. Otherwise SPG hotels are quite costly.

75% business travel. I've been Platinum on nights last 2 years, will hit SPG100 this year along with Marriott Platinum. I typically give my leisure stays to SPG as international properties tend to be better.

All business for me. I wish I could afford to get Platinum on leisure travel! Maybe one day...

Wow, over 100 nights a year purely on leisure . It certainly beats those who spend over 100 nights a year on business - I can't imagine spending a third of your life living in hotel rooms for work.

100% leisure. Unless plans change, it'll be 56 stays and 114 nights. If I hadn't blown a week at a Hilton, I would be spending a third of my life with Starwood.

Mine used to be about 90% Business, 10% Leisure. This year, it has been about 50% Business, 50% Leisure, meaning I had to work a little harder to keep the status (hopping hotels more often).

I am Lifetime Gold and half way to Lifetime Platinum. Hoping I can keep it up for 5 more years!

How did you get your Platinum? Business or Leisure?

Of my 50 SPG nights so far this year, 90% business (paid), 10% leisure (points) same as last year.

Out of my 111 hotel nights this year, it's 70% business, 30% leisure. Many *W properties won't take points for suites so we usually find more affordable options elsewhere. Looking forward to seeing if SNA change things.
