Interesting. I happen to be staying at one of these places in late June. I guess it is bonus for me. Not sure if it is worth adjusting where you stay to get this or not. I guess it depends on your situation.

Only 25 participating properties. Kind of disappointing.

I guess it's great if you were already planning on being at those properties but not sure it's going to increase business.

I moved a stay from an award to paid at one property, and from a non-participating to a participating property in another case. So they did get two extra nights from me...

Curse you Starwood! I hate the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers...but I can't walk away from the points and now I'll be hopping back and forth between there and the W Union Square. I'm your puppet SPG, make me do your bidding!

Do you get the additional 1000 points if you are on a C&P stay? Since a C&P stay counts as a stay per the terms and conditions, I would assume you would, correct? Can't find anything in the T&C's to say otherwise.

No. The FAQ says award (i.e. free nights and C&P) stays are excluded. C&P is not a point-earning stay.


Going forward, now that award stays are "qualifying", it seems the distinction between a qualifying stay and a point earning stay will be crucial, especially for promos. The latter will be key for promo purposes.

Your quote is missing some of the other Canadian properties like Sheraton Centre Montreal.

Weird. They must have updated the list as I just copy/pasted it!

This would be a good property for a mattress run as they have $100 rates available for April 5-9.
