To answer my own question. No they do not.
They are green in the sense they ask you to make a choice for fresh linens by placing a card on your bed. There are no MAGC bonus points for opting out of housekeeping.

As a veteran of many many many SGS breakfasts at Orchid and Sala I would like to compliment the Aloft BKK on a fabulous breakfast value for Plats especially if the stay is longer.

I enjoyed cheese, fresh baked bread, bacon, eggs/omelette station and juice bar in exchange for my 250 point amenity. I completely skipped the salads, noodle bar, Thai/Asian options.

The revues of breakfast in this thread have not been great and I took the points at check-in. However, after eyeballing the service this morning swapping out my amenity was a no brainier. Even for merely juice, coffee, yoghurt it would have been worth 50 SPG points per day to me.

Part of the trouble people have with it must be the "Points or Breakfast" plan at the Aloft where other nearby SPG properties remain "Points And Breakfast."

So far, I'm liking the value proposition the Aloft offers.

I was there a bit over a week ago and the breakfast has improved. It not as extensive as the others in the 5 star categories but is is more than sufficient to start the day. I have often booked the SPG plus rate that includes breakfast but is a flexible rate. It is value as the additional $10 a day give me the flexibility to change plans if need be as I often spend the first night here if arriving late at night. If staying only one night I then get the 250 points which offsets the extra spent on the room.

I'm liking the Aloft breakfast buffet more and more. It is a very busy Sunday morning here and the tables are turning quickly. As I mentioned in an earlier post the variety is there. Noodles, Bakery, Eggs, Salad, hot and cold meats, pizza, juices etc.
This is not the Sunday Jazzy brunch at the SGS nor should it be. Think of it as an over the top breakfast made available to Platinums for 250 points. Well worth it. IMHO.

I've seen a few rooms in this property. I really have know idea of the room types. Chic, Urban, Breezy... Whatever.

If you are not in a suite, your room is the same. Only the view differs. Both of my check-in's I was offered a room on the 31st floor. One on each side of the hall in the back of the property. The xx01-xx05 rooms face North(?) away from Sukhumvit Rd towards the tollway and Airport Link station. I did swap out one of these because there was a bit of a mildew oder.

The xx06-xx14 faces toward Sukhumvit. On the 31st floor you are high enough to see over the adjoining complex and I have a super nice view. I can see the sky train running to Chitlom and Polenchit, the JW and as far left as a peek-a-boo view of the lake. In the distance you can make out the cluster of hotels on the river. On a lower floor, your view would be blocked by the adjoining condo/apartment complex unless you are in the xx13-xx14 rooms. I'm guessing the chic rooms are those facing the complex.

I have worked out in the gym a few times. Its serviceable. 1 bike, 2 ellipticals, 2 treadmills, dumbbells, and a few weight machines. The space feels large than it is because of the glass walls.

I've made use of the Tuk Tuk service frequently to the BTS, Westin, 4Pts, etc. Never needed to wait too long, mostly no wait at all.

7-11 is right across that wicked 3-way intersection. Alcohol sales 11-14:00 and 17:00-24:00.
They should do Sims as well. The stalls on the top floor of Terminal are a total rip off. 7-11 is 49THB for a an unlimited social (FB, Line, Insta, WhatsApp) and 79 for a SIM with some general data included. You can top up and add additional data plans via machines. Once again I found the Terminal True shop less helpful than the one in the Silom complex.

I did laundry across the street. Immediately across the street in the car park just past the hair salon on the left. 100THB per KG. Not the cheapest price, but not paying by the piece. Its basically next day service at that rate. Super easy and worth it compared to seeking out a place that may be marginally less expensive.

Overall my group has checked into 6 different rooms here. All were fine except the one that we swapped out. Fine, but not St. Regis or SGS "clean". Staff is helpful and friendly. Haven't noticed any management except for perhaps the F&B manager.

I could hear some minor noise when I was on the 19th floor from the club. It did not bother my sleep. Less noticeable higher up. The guests on my floor using the soapdishes as door stops were another story. I guess they decided that connecting rooms were via the main hallway.

For a loyal SPG member, the aloft is a super value. Both in THB terms and Points redemption terms. As far as points are concerned 3K weekends and 4K weekdays are cheap in the grand scheme of redemptions at BKK SPG properties. When the entry level rooms are filled, the rate pops by 1000points.

I booked a combination of rooms and rates. Some 3k, some 4k, some cash/THB as low as 2050 on buy 2 get one free. I didn't think that C&P was a great value here and if you are not points rich, the 4K redemption is one you should pencil out.

FWIW, I'm not really into life on the Soi's and street food. I tend to prefer Terminal21, Paragon, Sala at the SGS, etc. Obviously the Aloft is not "connected" to the BTS way down Soi 11, but it is within striking distance. 15 min walk to Asoke and 7 min to Nana BTS. If street life is your cup of tea, use the Tuk Tuk and/or Uber Black when feasible like I did. It would be kind of brutal to be staying here with a baby in a stroller. Zig-zagging the back way via Soi 13 and 15 may be worth a try bet depending on the hour the road more travelled (Soi 11) is the better choice.

Thanks

Great informative post. I have 9 nights coming up at the Aloft, as well as 3 at SGS and 3 at the Westin. So, will definitely need laundry service. I did book the buy 2 get 1 free rates with breakfast since I'm not PLT-yet- (which was THB 2111 to 2300, higher in Feb than March obviously.) Breakfast was my only concern at Aloft, but your description seems to resolve that concern. I've stayed across the street at the HIX before so pretty familiar with the area and the walk to the BTS. How's the pool?

No need for concern about Aloft Breakfast! More enjoyable than Orchid Cafe for me this trip. Of course I usually stick to the basics. Ham&Cheese Omelet, Bacon, Brie, Bread, Juice, Pizza, Smoothie, Coffee.

Splash looks nice and seems to be popular with other guests. There is a bar area with some covered sheltered sofas, about 10 sun beds and a few other items of snugly patio furniture. Happy hour at the pool is 12-2pm with BOGO drinks. The pool does seem like a popular spot with guests. If I can figure out how to post a picture...

Totaly agree with you
IMO aloft is great hotel compare with 4P BKK that always cheat award reservation.
Rate on HIX Suk 11 is 1.6k- 2k++ so Aloft breakfast are more superior.

Yet again valuable information here and appreciated but this is something SPG does not bother to communicate directly to members, including regular visitors to this property. SPG is doing a very poor job at communicating these offers. This is the third time in recent weeks that this has happened. Is it too much to expect that an email with this offer would be sent at least to those who frequent the property?
I want this kind of information directly in preference to the rubbish in the inbox about online baseball games.
