The Elite Thank You program ended on December 31, 2017. You have until June 30, 2018, to award your Thank You certificates to SPG associates.

A great way to say thanks -

You expect and deserve outstanding service from SPG®. So when an associate goes above and beyond to make your stay, it’s nice to have a special way to express your thanks.

That’s what Elite Thank You certificates are all about. Print yours now to make the day of every deserving SPG associate who receives one.

Remember: All SPG associates and customer care agents are eligible to receive Elite Thank You certificates. Enjoy giving them — and we’ll keep looking for ways to earn them.

From T&C :"however, the certificates cannot be used as a form of bribery or fraud, nor may the certificates be sold in any manner"

Okay, I know this is supposed to encourage good service and all, but if spg is throwing $20 (2000 points) at each Platinum to be used on employees, why can't they use this money to give something nice to Platinums, like the nice metal luggage tag we used to get???

No thank you! Some useless luggage tags that go straight to the trash? Neeee, I like the idea with the "thank you" cards which can be given to the staff members. That's a nice idea ^

The only problem is that I did neither get my 2011 membership card nor did I get the four mentioned "thank you" cards but that's not surprisiing with such an unprofesional and disorganized company

Maybe not to you, but, as an employee, I think it's great.

William,

Am I missing something? Is there a reduced redemption schedule for Starwood employees? I gave a staff member from the St Regis Mexico City one of those 'thank yous" last month and I'm embarrassed by it now. I had erroneously assumed that these would result in something a bit more substantial.

I have to guess so. There are very few ways for Starwood employees to earn Starpoints, much less 500 of them at one fell swoop. You do remember that 500 Starpoints represents $250 in spending for Preferred, Preferred Plus, and Corporate members, right? I would have to spend $500 on my Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express to get the same value since I can't earn Starpoints like anyone else can.

Sorry if you feel embarrassed, but I think this is the cat's meow.

Hi tinkybelle,

I think we met at the BKK-meet in that little beer garden next to BKK Hilton a few months back @:-)

The Platinum thank you cards *are* appreciated. They get 500 points and brownie points with management for those. There have been threads about this elsewhere on FT in the past.

Definitely do use them up before they expire. I just used one at W Kowloon to show appreciation for excellent service.

Edit: here is the original story

I know I'd be happy to receive one. Who doesn't love to be recognized for doing a great job? 500 starpoints is a bonus on top of that. We can book rooms free on points or do cash & points just like anyone else (once we have enough points). Did you know if you request them they will send you a 2nd sheet of 4 Thank you cards? Keep that love coming

I have given away two of these, and on both occasions I had to explain to them what they are and how to use them, haha.

Gave my first one away last week- the front desk agent I gave it to certainly knew what it was and was very appreciative for 2 reasons- 1) The Starpoints as she is saving up for a vacation for her large family and 2) she liked the recognition...

As far as I know, yes. If yours did not come with your membership kit, you can call Platinum Concierge and ask them to send them to you under separate cover.
