Anyone w/ recent (since 2009) stays at Sheraton Cordoba/Mendoza/Salta
Basically what the subject says. Did a search on all three properties, most recent info from 2009 (at least that I found).
Trying to decide whether I should be staying in the Sheratons or spend my nights elsewhere.
Thanks!

The best place to ask tends to be in the relevant threads themselves. That way if you get an update, it will be be in the same master thread for the next person to find.
Unfortunately I haven't been to the properties you are looking for information on, so I can't help there, but I'm sure somebody else will be able to give an update.

Thanks RAPC for the advice but there aren't any master threads for these properties. At least in my search the most relevant, and this is 2006 in the case of Salta, was in a thread for another hotel which seems to have left Starwood.
For Cordoba the most recent info was in a Sheraton BA thread.
So I decided it was best to start a new thread rather than try to continue the older ones. But, you're right, it is generally a good idea to continue the older threads.

In which case I apologise and shouldn't have assumed that we have master threads for them. We're rather spoilt in the SPG forum with having so many good master threads.
Sounds like you're doing us all a favour and getting another property or two covered by a new master thread ^

I was in Sheraton Cordoba few months back (around Sept.2010). My stay was ok. Room was clean, breakfast spread was ok. Had lunch at the hotel, food was good. I arranged airport pickup service by the hotel, around 30 minutes trip from Cordoba airport to the hotel. Looks like Sheraton is the tallest building in town.
Had problem with the bill during checkout (room rate was wrong), took a while to settle that. Good that I had a printout of confirmation for the confirmed room rate. Overall, it is probably a good place to stay in town.

Was in Cordoba in November and stay was great--spacious clean room, very good food and surroundings at breakfast etc. Had a good time in the local area hiking . . .
Was also in Salta a couple of times in November--food at breakfast was subpar but one could find enough to eat. Big conferences on and off which made it difficult. Lounge is a joke (nice enough but nothing to eat or drink to speak of) so don't worry about upgrades to club floor.
I would stay at both again. I like the Salta location for what we needed. It was still close enough to walk to downtown and safe (or so I felt), even at midnight but at edge of nature so quiet at night. Showing a bit of wear and tear but reasonable value for money.
Sad to see Cafayate gone though . . . (stayed there just before they left spg)

Stayed at the Sheraton Mendoza in august 2009. New property, nice staff, room felt more upscale than standard Westin room in the US. (and I got a suite upgrade). Breakfast was in the restaurant on the ground floor...nothing to write home about. Not in the absolute center of the action, but close enough. I remember walking about 20 minutes in one direction for good restaurants and taking a five minute cab ride in another direction for a late dinner and a few drinks. Pretty sure the latter was in the university district.
I also looked at the Park Hyatt Mendoza. That was definitely a more high-end property. But heard that the hotel is really an afterthought since the main revenue source for the property is the casino.
I'd definitely stay at the Sheraton again.

Salta Sheraton
Just stayed at the Salta Sheraton from March 8 to March 12. Located in very nice neighborhood on a hill within 15 minute walk to town center. Pleasant public areas. Great pool area with best view in all of Salta of the downtown and surrounding mountains. Pleasant helpful staff. Taxis fare to anywhere in the core town area is less than $3.
Rather average sized rooms. All have view of pool area and downtown. Just a gold so did not have access to lounge.
Stayed on cash and points. First time I have been charged tax on cash and points. Was charged $30 + the 21% IVA. Anyone know if this is correct?
Stayed at the Sheraton Mendoza two years ago. I have nothing to add that has not already been covered in the thread on that hotel.

Currently at the Sheraton Salta, on a one night paid, 2 night cash and points stay.
My impressions are that it is a nice hotel. It's located in a nice area of the city at the base of Cerro San Bernardo and about 15 min walk to the city center. The club lounge is a little small but the lounge is never a huge attraction for me.
I was upgraded to a suite with a nice view of Cerro San Bernardo and the pool. The pool area actually looks really nice but it is a little chilly to be swimming here. The staff I have met have all been really good answering all of my questions, especially with my limited Spanish. They speak English but when in Argentina...
In the lobby there is a travel agency that helps with local tours, the lobby bar which is ok and a casino.
Overall with the suite upgrade, it seems like a steal to be here at 1600pts+30 bucks.

The Sheraton Cordoba says the taxi fee is $15, which is the same as the hotel's shuttle...is that true? Will be arriving at 10pm and wondering which option to choose.

Just completed a recent stay - here is a review.
The hotel is located about a 25 minute walk away from the restaurants and few touristic spots. As well the neighborhood between the Sheraton and "downtown" isn't very nice so they warn you not to walk after dark. So you are left to taxi back/forth. There is a shopping mall next door which has a supermarket and your standard mall food court.
Very friendly check in personnel who upgraded me to a 1 BR suite as a Platinum guest. However this was the only Platinum benefit afforded at this hotel. There is no club lounge, no happy hour at the bar they do have, and no in-room welcome amenity. In my opinion they could do a better job welcoming Platinums.
The room is decorated in black lacquer... not exactly what I expected, but nevertheless the bed and A/C are comfortable. The suite has a small dining room table, couch and 2 seating chairs. They participate in Green Choice which is nice. The Internet in the room was very slow and didn't work in the bedroom area. I had to sit in the living room to get it to work. Annoying.
The building is the tallest in Cordoba (or close to it) so higher floors have nice views. I was on the 11th. Views of the city from here... even got a lovely rainbow one day.
They included breakfast for Platinums, but it was quite a poor spread. The scrambled eggs were terribly runny (soup like), the fruits were of poor quality (unripe or bruised) and other than this they solely offered some breads, meats and cheeses. Not really much healthy on offer. Some huevos duros (hard boiled eggs) would've been nice.
I ate at the restaurant for dinner one eve - since the hotel is so far from downtown it gets a bit annoying to walk back/forth (especially when told not to at night). I had salmon with veggies. It was pretty good. Although the restaurant was quite empty and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired (waiter just watched TV while I ate).
When I left I had to work very hard to get them to call me a city taxi rather than use the hotel car. The hotel car costs 180 Pesos to the airport while a city taxi is 100. Ultimately I was able to get the doorman to go out to the street and wave one down for me. But the front desk wouldn't call. Poor service.
Overall, I'd recommend the rooms here for a short stay - but due to the location it's not really meant for longer stays.
