Rate Form

I made a booking for a 7 night stay with the starfriend rate and got the form from my friend who works at one of the starwood hotels. I changed the length of stay from 7 to 1. The 1 night stay still falls within the dates specified on the form and the rate is still the same. Do i need to get a new form? Thanks!

I once was staying under the Friends & Family rate at my friend's hotel and at check-in they asked for an HR letter. I had no idea one was needed and the check-in lady said, "Well how do we know if your friend or family member still works for the hotel?" I smiled and politely pointed to my friend who was talking to a few of his underlings...he was the Manager of the hotel. She didn't get the concept.

So sad.

BTW Starwood Lurker...funny yet appropriate comments. Keep them up.

This made my night. And, are you talking about a gift for XMAS 2011? That's a long wait.

What I find sad is that your friend the Manager didn't feel he should follow procedures or at least let the front desk know beforehand that no paperwork was needed in your case

Well he did put notes in there about the reservation being for his friend, myself. She just didn't read them. When he came over to clear it all up he pointed to the box that indicated additional info had been entered.

William...does each SPG employee get a limited number of StarFriend nights? I have a friend who works for SPG. I don't want to use up the days if there's a limited number.

The only restriction is that any stay, whether it be for one room or multiple rooms, may not exceed 14 room-nights.

Starwood Lurker (I orII),

I've got a question. My friend works for Starwood as a part time employee. He provided me with his Starfriend Rate and I booked a few hotels in September, and he provided me with the Reservation Authorization form.

My concern is, since he is a part-time employee, what were to happen if he decides to quit before my trip? Would the Reservation Authorization form be invalid, and therefore I'd have to pay full price at check-in?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Personally, I don't think you are going to have a problem, but the best answer will come from your friend's HR department.

Which hotels get posted and when?

How much in advance do star friends rates get posted? If I am also SPG gold do I have a chance to get upgraded? Do star friends rates get posted last minute?

This is dependent on the revenue team at individual properties.

Starwood Friends rate is an ineligible rate. You may not get upgraded or enjoy any other Gold benefits.
