is there a roadmap for the BB app that will make the app work on BB OS7 ?
The current app works on BB OS 5.x (Dead) and BB OS 6.x (Dying). New devices will all ship with BB OX 7.x. Case in point: Blackberry Bold 9900. Has been on the market for a few months now.Marriott updated their app to work on it but the SPG app doesn't work / Blackberry Appworld won't let a Bold 9900 user download it.

I ran into the same issue - I wrote spg about it but didn't get any definitive answer but "thanks for your feedback".

On the other hand it seems the third party who develops the SPG app is the same outfit who make the app for Marriott...
Edit: Marriott are in the same boat. There's no BB OS7 compatibility for their app yet.

I'm told that the developers are working towards a resolution and will have an update in market shortly.

And now we cant even blame them anymore since nobody knows how long BB OS7 will be alive, if and when BBOS 10 gets released, if RIMM even will exist in their current form....
A year ago there was no excuse for not keeping this app up to date but now...
Most devs have turned their backs on RIMM.

Just thought I'd update this thread as I recently lost my older Bold and Corp IT replaced it with the newer BB 9900.
I really miss the old SPG app as I found it to be a very light but easy to use program.
Just another shout out to encourage a port to the current BB OS.

Let's work on getting full functionality into the iOS and Android apps for now and then port it over if the platform is viable. Current BB OS just isn't.

While I'm not a developer, I am very familiar with coding. I would think porting the exact same program/functionality from OS6 to OS7 can't be that difficult.
As far as corp travellers go, there's still go to be a ton of us that still have BBs.

And market share in many countries is above 30%. Just because it is in decline in America doesn't mean it isn't important in other parts of the world.
I miss my BB SPG app.

Completely agree. Recently had an upgrade to my work BB and have no app now as a result. I found it very useful too and definitely miss it.

Blackberry market share has been falling worldwide, not just in the US and it has been getting worse for them not better--down to 4.8% of smart phones sold in the 2nd quarter 2012 from 11.5% a year earlier. My work blackberry SPG app still works as my phone is over 2 years old but I would never make a booking through that app. It is handy to check a reservation but that is about it. It is far easier to make reservations through my ipad. I highly doubt Starwood would want to waste resources on an app that fewer and few people would use. Putting some resources into an Android app given the choice between Android and Blackberry would make more sense.
