Was there last night and this morning. No calls to prayer were heard, but I was on the ground floor, not towers, near the pool so at 0600 my wakeup was the obnoxious loud kids screaming in the hallways and in and around the pool.

As a gold, I got a non-SPG room with choice of club sandwich, fruit plate or some other thing as my amenity. Room was nice enought and perfectly fine. Nice enough place, but not nearly on a par with the Hilton where I am presently residing. Great staff ala Conrad Singapore. Modern like Millenium Hilton Bangkok or Hilton KL.

My shared van from near the Le Meridien Jakarta was 70k IDR. Taxi to XTrans office in Jakarta was 11000 IDR and taxi to Sheraton from Xtrans was 24k IDR. Train would have been 60k if it had been running on the schedule quoted by Le Meridien. Silver Bird from JKT-LeMeridien = 173K IDR.

Note blue bird here in Bandung is reliable and they use the meter. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of many other taxis her.

Its very difficult for any hotel anywhere to match the quality of rooms at the Hilton Bandung; just look at the amount of high quality marble that goes into this place, even the luggage rack is clad with granite. However, I feel that the staff at the Hilton are not as well trained nor as warm as the Sheraton.

If you compare basic rooms between the Hilton and the Sheraton, the Hilton wins hands down. However, if you compare the exec/tower rooms at both hotels, its a tough call. While the exec rooms at the Hilton is sleek and modern, it does not feel as cosy as the towers room at the Sheraton nor does it have a balcony.

For those on business, the Hilton is a very good choice. However for leisure stays, I still prefer the Sheraton for its open concept and informal atmosphere (and not forgetting fresh air)

Wondering if anyone has a recent review of this place? Might be travelling there in July.

Food in the lounge is not as extensive as it used to be, and some rooms are getting a bit dated. I believe they will be commencing the room renovations during the Ramadhan month.

Thanks mario33. Rooms dated but still ok I hope? Oh dear.. room reno during Ramadan means the stay won't be quiet at all. Ramadan is a lull period in Bandung?

Any upgrades for Plats?

Most probably a towers room (which is 50% larger than a standard room & equivalent to a Jr suite at other hotels) or at best to a Jr Suite (which is actually a full suite with separate bedroom, living area, dining table & wet bar).

Just checked out today. Got a suite on the ground floor (205). Really dated room, the mattress actually slant downwards. I use to love this hotel but lately, not so much.

How did you find out about the renovation plans. The regular rooms or towers?

Seen the mockup for both, stunning ! More like a LC than a Sheraton. I believe they will start off the refurbishment with the regular rooms which is more dated.

Thank you StationaryTraveller! Just what I needed, especially now that the renovations of the rooms is complete.

I'm wondering if I should book different rooms on different days just to have a feel

Has anyone been able to use SNAs here? I'm unable to apply them on spg.com and an SPG representative told me this might be because the hotel is not participating in the program. Is this really the case? A bit surprising given that all the other Indonesian hotels do.

Hi acjflyer,

It is most likely that the hotel does not have enough suites available on the days you want to book. Feel free to your dates via private message and I'm happy to check this for you.

An Oasis in the midst of traffic gridlock and pollution.

Currently staying in the midst of a 3 night stay from the 10th to the 13th of July. Love the ambiance of the hotel. Rustic yet modern. There seems to be an over construction of Hotels in Bandung, and has created a city that is mostly congested and chaotic. Yet this hotel is definitely an Oasis, a get away from the congestion and chaos. If you want new glass and metal building, then this is not for you. It is more laid back, manicured gardens and a lounge that feels like a ski lodge.

Another thing that sets it apart is the service from the staff. From Tower lounge staffs, to Mr. Boma the rooms div manager, up to Mr. Fadholi, the GM of the Property. Little touches like hand written note from the GM, to chocolate tart sent to the room as an evening gift. Excellent service all round. Would definitely stay there again. A tip to others, a good time would be weekday, tranquil and most rejuvenating.
