They called to raise my credit limit but when I asked them about the renewal bonus they told me there us nothing like it in Canada. Also, they took 5 weeks to send me a replacement card after it had been cancelled but they kept the fee!I did ask them about their ads about replacing cards anywhere in the world in 24 hrs. No response.

Had my card compromised a few weeks back and they needed to send me a new one. Asked for immediate replacement and they sent it via 2-day Xpresspost, so 24 hours was ~72 hours.

Not sure if the 24 hour replacement is U.S. only and/or Platinum only. My annual spend is > $100k.

Only got 5K for a referral a month or two ago. Sent a SM and it was resolved in next statement.

Didn't seem out of the ordinary to me, considering how many times we've had to do that in the past

I had a 5K only issue that was fixed with a call after 1-2 extra months

I'm still waiting for a SPG Biz -> SPG Personal 10K referral (late June referral, 0K on July statement, was told to wait 8-10 weeks in SM)..will wait for Aug statement

The US version of the AMEX SPG business allows complimentary executive lounge access at all Sheraton properties. Has anyone ever used this with the Canadian version?

They may have, but it is not a benefit for the Canadian version of the business card, so they were probably unsuccessful.

Mrs Medved tried to send me a referral from clicking on the link in her Jan 2017 statement -- didn't work. Thought that is no longer available. However, copying and pasting into the browser worked: americanexpress.ca/referafriend. Says 10K for referral.^

With the YMMV when it comes to repeated welcome bonus. I'm wondering if I should bother self-referring from SPG Biz to SPG Personal for 10k SPG, or just try to call in for a retention?

Any other recent data points?

I was unable to get a retention offer on the personal card, so I self referred to the biz card. Referral bonus has posted already. Just have to spend $1500 in next 2 months (since I was approved on Feb 28, but didn't get the card until Mar 29!) to get the 20K point sign up bonus.

Self referred from SPG Biz to SPG Personal. Got my 10k referral. Working on the SPG Personal's welcome bonus.

SPG Biz, offered 7000 points as retention. For $150 AF. Is it worth it? Seems like a wash out, and kill further chances of churning back to SPG Biz. But again, that's if this card will still be around next year...

I would say 7000 SPG points for 150$ is a decent value... cheaper than buying points even during promos...

Expected $80k+ in spend this year.

Should I expect at least 7k in retention bonus if I call and ask?

I've been lurking in the US retention bonus thread, my gosh, $100 or 10k pts for ppl with under 10k spend? -_-
