Just signed up for the double nights. I am staying at the W in SF for a 2 night stay starting on the 14th. Will the night of the 15th count for 2 stays? i.e., will I get credit for 3 stays for this itinerary?

You're checking into ONE hotel for TWO nights? Correct?

You're staying at the same hotel, it's going to be one stay (but will counts as two for the promotion). I don't know how the nights will work.

ONE Stay and TWO Nights whould be = TWO Stays and FOUR Nights

Will stays count double in addition to nights counting double?
Yes. Members who register for the promotion will have eligible nights and stays count double during the promotion. For example, one stay for three nights would be counted as two stays for six nights.
But in BigPoppaCO's case, since his stay starts on the 14th, it will be ONE Stay + THREE Nights (the 2nd night is doubled).

If I check in to a property before the promotion period begins on September 15, 2009, but check out after September 15, will both the stays and nights double?

Assuming you have already registered, the stay would not count double because the check-in date is prior to September 15, 2009; however, any nights from that stay that fall between September 15 and December 15, 2009, will count double.

A weird thing happened whilst registering. I have already hit 25 stays for the year, but was offered the choice between double nights or nights advance. Had to think about it briefly...

I am trying to find another hotel for the 14th but its looking like everything except the Sheraton Fisherman Wharf is sold out (I would sooner stay in a homeless shelter, but thats another story). Le Meridien is too expensive; hoping one of the Westins open up. I need the 15th to count as two stays...

Despite wishing for, and getting, a double stay promo from SPG, the Nights Advance was just too sweet for me to pass up. Thank you SPG!!!

I was only presented with the Advance promo and of course signed up. I half expect to re-qualify for next year by the end of Q4. Then what? I guess I could stay at Marriotts next year to see what it is like to have no status. Or... maybe I could continue to stay at Starwood and enjoy another 2 years of Plat status!

I not too sure about this.. the promo T&C clearly says the check-in date is the determining one for the promo so in the strict sense he might get the nights from the 15th on but no stay????

i like the promo, and think it is a great idea. however, what is with the gap in time between the two options?

ironically, i have three stays between 9/15 and 10/1. while i would prefer the advance nights 2010, i miss out, whereas i could get double stays, but don't need them.

SPGPROMOS is Down

Looks like too many people are excited about this promo. I haven't been able to reach the server all morning. The page half-loaded at one point and then crapped out. I'll give it a try later.

Good job on this promo SPG - obviously people are flocking to it...
