I just got an email about this promo. It appears FT had a 3 hour window before anyone else even know about it. Thank you, William, and thank you, Starwood!
Wow, those things got snapped up quick. Virtually all the U2 tix were snapped up within minutes. I went to refresh my page and they were all gone. That will teach me to drag my feet next time!!! Thanks SPG for this great opportunity and the advance notice!! Well done!!!!
I checked out my seat assignment at stubhub before buying. It was much better than the seatmap on Ticketmaster for U2. You can google on U2 Rose Bowl for example, and get to the stubhub site which shows the stadium map including location of the stage. I got Section 20, row 5. I had checked earlier, and seats appear to be sold out for that area. Folks are trying to get $1K each for them on stubhub. I'm happy.

Looks like from the maps I found that the first row in the stadium is K and then it goes back to A (Row 11), and then starts with 1 thru 77. So basically doodiedan got 11th Row seats and SD1K got 16th Row seats pretty much just to the front/side of the stage. Pretty good tix IMHO.
Although I hafta say that Stubhub is highly overpriced in general, about 3x overpriced in fact. That is what people are asking, not what they get. There's a reason that there's so many pairs available on Stubhub. Completed auctions on eBay (that actually sold) are a much better indicator of fair value for concert tix. Looks like these tix are probably worth about $600 or so for the pair. Which frankly isn't much higher than the ~$550-575 cost of a pair of these tix if you bought them from Ticketmaster. My guess is that the price of these tix will drop quite a bit right before showtime too (maybe to like ~$200 per ticket, definitely under face value). There are just too many tix out there and not enough people that want to drop $250+ per ticket in a bad economy like this one.
But kudos to SPG for offering such great tix!!!! Two thumbs up () for the Lurkers for helping out with this, and especially giving FTers a good chance this time!
Lurkers, any special rate for hotels close to the venue(s) for the lucky SPG ticket holder(s)?
LOL, come on, they gotta make their money back somehow!!!!
If the concert was 2 days earlier, I would have suggested you live it up in style at the St Regis DC using your Free Weekend Nights!!! Too bad the concert is on a Tuesday!!!

Tell me about it! I'm using some of my free weekend night at St Regis DC. still, let the lurkers answer who knows what they may have in the bag?
Note to self - check all forums of interest every day!!!!
Had not seen this thread, but I received the email from Starwood today @ 2 pm and immediately logged in; was surprised to see so many concerts/venues already zerod out. Did not take advantage because there was nothing left that I would be willing to travel to another state for - but there sure was originally!
This was a GREAT offer by Starwood and the advance access granted to Flyertalkers is amazing. Thanks so much and hope this oportunity is repeated in the future!
I am in section 120, row 13. Have you figured out the hotel thing yet?

Cool. I live in DC, so no hotel. I actually popped by the W here which just opened tonight- it was PACKED with people. Very cool vibe. Tried to get to the rooftop bar but it was at capacity. Might be a fun place to stay, and its right by the blue line which goes out to the concert venue.
