Arrow Sheraton Dover, Delaware [Master Thread]

Just a brief report, as I searched prior to heading to this property, and didnt find anything.

Stayed here last week. $105/nt regular rate for the club floor. $99/nt regular room.

Check in was fast and efficient. Nice/clean/"fresh feeling" lobby.

Was granted club access (plat) on the $99/nt rate. Room was nice. "Old" crt tv. Spacious enough! Club was...interesting!

Free booze (I had wine, not sure what else they had). 2 different "hot" dishes at night. VERY friendly staff! (Lounge is VERY small though). They give you a paper pass to get into the lounge, as a staff member "mans" the door. It is in a regular room, and has a bar, shelf with food on it, and home-style refrigerator.

Breakfast in the lounge was very basic-no hot food-IIRC. Typical continental type.

I will definately stay here again. Only full-service hotel in Dover that I know of. WELL worth the $$$.

I was there two weeks ago, in a room right across from the lounge. Disappointed in the old CRT TV. Food in the restaraunt was great. You are right, my rate of $85 was great. No upgrade though

this place is a dump.. I booked using 1,600 pts + $30 on a SPG C&P stay in June

platinum recognition was great, received 500 pt amenity, suite upgrade, access to the club lounge

here's the bad part - There was a old dirty mattress/boxspring that was leaned against the wall outside the hallway of the door. Left to go to the Dover Mall and the casino.. I came back and the mattress was STILL there. I walked into my room and the suite reeked of mold and mildew. I promptly tweeted the pics to SPG and left the property without staying that night.

another bad part was the club lounge - Evening appetizers consisted of fried pickles (hot) and the cold items were celery sticks, cubed cheeses, and carrots with ranch. What a paltry selection of foods for a club lounge... The beverages are kept in the fridge that is monitored by the club attendant. I asked the club attendant "So where did you get all these bottled beers from" (I was amazed because there was a HUGE variety). The club attendant responded "Oh, its all leftover beer from the restaurant downstairs that they couldn't sell" Oh geez, thanks for telling me that I am drinking expired beer. One look into the fridge and I saw other foods mixed in (probably employee lunches) stored in the fridge (DISGUSTING).

Needless to say, I was compensated for my stay and I will never return here again or to Delaware for that fact. There really isn't much to do in Dover.........

This hotel is shameful and should not bare the Sheraton brand name

I stayed here 3 nights in June. I was only at the hotel from about 10pm-8am. That is all the time I would recommend staying at the property. Beds were comfortable, and the room was standard size.

I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. However, my neighbors apparently did not. Housekeeping came to clean the rooms every single morning of my stay at 8am (including Saturday morning). They repeatedly knocked on the adjoining doors attempting to gain access and clean the rooms. I thought it was a bit early for this.

As I exited in the morning, there was a different overwhelming smell each morning in the lobby (the first morning was like a Chinese buffet, the second day a weird chemical smell, etc).

On my final night there (a Friday night), the hotel was hosting a Rotary club meeting. The members of the meeting were literally yelling down the hall at each other, as they partied from one room to the next, slamming doors, etc. I called to complain at 1am, and finally things quieted down.

When I woke up a few hours later to depart, they were having church in the first floor of the hotel. Didn't bother me, but just an observation.

The parking is free and plentiful. The property shares a lot with an abandoned/closed Walmart, a Sam's Club, and a Hampton Inn.

Received no upgrade as a Gold even though the hotel seemed empty.

I needed to stay in the area, and so it worked for my purposes.

I stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights and had a great stay. Upon arrival the attendant in the platinum lounge poured wine for me and my wife to bring back to my room, and the selection of snacks was good. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. We visited the pool one day, and my daughter had a great time.

Just stayed for one night this past Saturday. Staff was excellent all around. The hotel however...is in need of a renovation. The furniture was warn and gouged out. The bed was ok. The club lounge is only open for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. The hallways smelled of industrial strength disinfectant...fortunately the smell did not spread to the rooms.

Basically, if you're in need of a Starwood stay/night(s) it's an acceptable place to be. But, I wouldn't come to Dover just to stay here.
