Le Parker Meridien New York & Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs join SPG

Please join me in welcoming these two new participants in Starwood Preferred Guest, as of this Friday, November 7th.

Le Parker Meridien New York will come into SPG as a Category 6 property. Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs will come into SPG as a Category 5 property.

Both will also allow Specialty, Specialty Select, and Suite upgrade awards, subject to availability of the respective rate plans, at least through the end of the year.

I'm also hearing that there may be an introductory bonus Starpoints offer on paid rates for these two hotels. If that comes about, I'll post more about it here.

Best regards,

William R. Sanders

Terrific news!

I stayed in Le Parker Meridien New York last December, and liked it very much. The location was ideal for the things I like to do in NYC, and I was treated well by the hotel.

'bout time!

Nice job SPG on making a change that people have been asking for. And a special TY to William since he gets to see so many of us complain about it and obviously forwarded our concerns.

This restaurant is not owned by LPM and almost definitely will not give points. This is, I must say a good thing. Lines have been known to be long and they are a simple business, no credit cards just cash, the issuance of points or having to take an account number would complicate and slow down their processing of transactions.

Any idea when spg.com will reflect these changes?

A warm welcome to both Le Parker Meridiens! Perhaps they'd like to have a rep join FT sometime? (If they're not on here already.)

I also have stayed at this hotel and was very happy with it. I will save my additional comments and questions for hotel-specific threads.

Mods, YGPM.

Norma's at LPM NY has one of the best breakfasts in New York City. Now I can get my $1000 omlet and get SPG points too.

William - maybe a stupid question - any idea about guests who checked in say yesterday and checkout on Saturday - will they be eligible for SPG points? I've got a couple of friends staying there just now!

Definitely good news ^
