LEAVING SPG 1/15/10: Planet Hollywood Las Vegas 2009 [Master Thread]
So PH is offering a $49 rate plus $40 casino play. I'm not familiar with this casino credit. Is it the same as cash to use on the tables, slots, etc..?

I'm guessing it could be for both table play & slot play or just slot play. When I went to get my $100 credit at Palazzo, the clerk specifically mentioned to me that she checked to see if the credit was for both table & slot or just slot.
No-the casio"credit"is $15 in "free" slot play(after you cycle $40 through the machine)and a $25 one time matchplay=even money bets. You put down $25 and the coupon and if you have a win you walk away with $75(your $25 and the $50 win)-theykeep the coupon.
And yes-you can get more than one coupon book. Each time I have stayed here there is a coupon on my offers page that gets a new book.

Thanks for the info. I think i'm just going to book Stratosphere. I know not so great but it was $29 the other day and $22 today, and this is just a mileage run so no biggie.
My sole complaint was the $5 resort fee, which I knew about in advance. It is such a crock. I will say that the front desk staff is very well trained in how to field complaints on it. It is clear that they hear about it a lot. I couldn't get the charge removed, but the agent seemd very polished in hearing me out.
I have finally figured out how to avoid "resort fees". I stay at properties that don't charge them.

Good rate for anyone that is doing CES or that other thing that's on & had maybe pre-booked at a $300 rate or there about.
This is quite an amazing price for CES, guess Vegas are finding it hard to fill the rooms up.
This was already discussed in Hotel Deals, Planet Hollywood thread.
Believe it or not, this happens almost every year for CES. I usually book the room on points to insure I have a room and EVERY year, the week before CES they drop it to $89, and I cancel the point stay and pay the cash.

Nothing important to read here, but you read it anyway...
I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow but am staying at The Hotel by Mandalay Bay. I go to Vegas often and the best deals I get are at MGM Grand or Signature by MGM, or Mandalay Bay's The Hotel. I keep an email folder with offers so when I have to go I can choose the best hotel rates.
As a longtime Platinum Member with Starwood, I'm surprised that I don't get email offers from their Vegas properties. I did stay at both and didn't like the Westin, and thought PH was so-so. I'd stay there if they sent good offers to me as MGM and Mandalay does (IF the offers were worth it) but every time I check their rates, I find better ones from other hotels.
The rate I got from "The Hotel", a VERY nice all-suite hotel connected to Mandalay Bay, is 99 a night, and Mandalay Bay sent an offer for $79 a night for a regular room, but just for their "special guests". It was emailed to me as an exclusive rate for special guests only and I couldn't find the rate on their website. I think MGM and Mandalay (owned by same company) are smart in emailing such offers. If PH did that, I might just spend my money there.
Also, I play blackjack when I have spare time in Vegas and MGM has been known to comp my room, my food, and give me free coupons for the buffet. I didn't get a darn thing from Westin or PH.
PH IS mediocre for a Vegas hotel, but it's fine for me, IF the price is right. When I stayed I got upgraded to a strip suite -it wasn't really a suite but was spacious enough for 1 person and the bathroom was really nice, with a round tub facing the strip where I watched Bellagio's water show. They also offered 25 dollars in table play. But when I go with the hubby, I want a guaranteed suite, and MGM and Mandalay Bay and The Hotel offer those with really decent rates. They repay loyal guests with really decent rates.
99 dollars a night for a bedroom, a bathroom and living room with flat screens in every room (yep, even the bathroom has one!) is a really good rate, so The Hotel by Mandalay was an easy choice for this trip. I don't mind 20 dollars more a night for a suite- the difference between the email only Mandalay Bay offer and email only The Hotel's offer. I do miss getting the "stay" for Starwood but I stay at enough Starwood hotels throughout the year to easily make Platinum. So Vegas is the one city I don't go looking for Starwood properties to rest my head.
I just find it amusing that PH charges the same or more than MGM, Mandalay Bay and their hotels. I even get email offers from Bellagio and Caesars Palace where I've never stayed! So why doesn't PH send me email offers? If they did, it might make a big difference in my Vegas trips.

Thanks, I'll need to keep an eye on that thread in the future.

I get emails from the A list players club and hard copy snailmail about once every two months. While they are not as aggressive as MGM or Harrahs(Which own the properties mentioned above)I find the PH offers to be totally in line for my level of play.
You might want to make sure you have signed up to recieve mailers and offers.
I made one reservation with the special link Michael Coley posted earlier (many thanks again!), but now I tried to book another one for a friend using it and it says (After I go through with the reservation) that it's overbooked and doesn't let me.
Any ideas? Anyone else have any promo rates? Looking to stay 1/17 through 1/19.
Just call the call center number with the promo code and they will book it for you - I had the same problem online - no issues with the call center.....
