Anyone have feedback on the opening so far? I'll be there this coming weekend. Seems to be entirely sold out on the SPG site as well now.

Thanks!

7/2

I desperately wanted to stay there, but needed to be in town on 6/28 and it wasn't yet open. Walked through the lobby and out to pool area on 7/2 before leaving Miami.

Looked beautiful and it's a good location. The pool area was particularly nice. It didn't look like it was fully occupied that day, and the hotel's section of the beach only had 3 people in the chairs.

I'd be interested in guest feedback as well.

First Tripadvisor.com review is not very good! Reviewer only has 1 contribution so take it with a grain of salt like all TA reviews.

Taken with several grains of salt. I'm staying there in a couple weekends so will take some pics and offer a more detailed review. I'm just happy the property is open!

Pics of a suite can be found at:

I noticed that someone started a new post ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...er-thread.html )with a quick review and that thread has been marked as the "Master Thread"....wouldn't it make sense to merge the two threads since this thread has more info in it?

FYI, hotelchatter steals pictures from flickr members illegally. They used several of my hotel pictures without permission. After asking them to be removed, they still ignored my demand and leave them on site. It's best to not associate FT with such website.

I can truly understand your frustration with this and I would be pretty upset too if it happend to me. Is adding a link to their website however such a bad thing since we are all drooling to get a hold of pics of this property? I don't have a problem not posting links in the future if they have pics we are all waiting for (I'll just look at them for my own information and enjoyment) .....but is this really serving the FT community which is looking for info? I don't care either way since I'm not gaining anything personally by posting the link. Just asking...don't want to start a huge debate on this. I like my peace and usually try to stay out of heated debates on FT so I don't make any enemies!

YMMV, but I don't associate myself with any organization that provide services illegally. How would you feel if someone takes your creative work and display them without permission and make money off it?

I wouldn't like it! Ok...you convinced me and I won't post further links. Trying to keep the peace!

Did you set you settings on Flikr so that no one else is permitted to use your photos?

from another website discussing flikr
If you see “Some rights reserved” then click on this link to see the conditions under which you can use the image. The link takes you to a page on the Creative Commons website. Creative Commons an 'open content licensing' project that allows you to specify to what degree your images (or other works) may be shared or used. If you are using images to promote an issue it's a good way to encourage people to pass your work on and get your message out there far and wide.

For those with actual stay experience, please post in the master thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...er-thread.html

This thread is for preopening discussion. Hopefully by next week, we will have several stay reports along with pictures. This thread wil then die away.
