I'm SPG Gold and didn't notice this offer has been running more than 2 months. Missed few stays by paying and staying at club room.
This a pretty good deal for a stay at Royal Club Suite in kl for those who are not plat members that will never been upgraded to a suite.
Just to clarify, the above offer is applicable only to members of the Starwood Privilege programme.
While the suite is certainly a step up from the standard rooms, its fairly basic with a separate living room; but nothing like the Westin suite or even the exec suite at Sheraton Imperial.

I stayed once at LM suite, the bedroom still look as cram as normal room. The Bathroom is far different from the club room (which actually premier room but with club benefit), it looks new and spacious. I think it is the same type of bathtub(Toto) from Hilton next door. I remembered my last stay at the club room, the bathtub is dated and had been refurbished with spray paint and sadly, when you soaked in the bathtub and you could see the peeling paint!!
Cross posted from the Westin Kuala Lumpur thread just above...
Just checked out of Le Meridien. The pool, shared with the Hilton, has a great new feature. A large jacuzzi, with the temperature just right...and no kids allowed!
Also, the Le Meridien has a new Italian restaurant opening, to replace the Middle Eastern one, in late November. The menu selections look pretty good and reasonably priced.
Just across the street in KL Sentral there is a no hassle taxi kiosk, with coupons that will have the driver deliver you to wherever, for a flat rate...no meter, no fuss.

It's always been there, at least since the airport opened over 10 years ago. But glad you enjoyed the hotel!
If you plan to take the monorail be aware that there is a huge construction project and there is now quite a detour to get to the train station and then to the hotel. It is covered, but narrow and with lots of holes - a bit of a challenge with (wheeled) luggage. Very unfriendly for travelers and extremely poor planning as it looks as if it will go on for a few years to build the large building

The huge construction project is the St. Regis hotel in the making.

No, its a shopping mall.
The St Regis site is on the other side of the hotel facing Lake Gardens / National Museum. Enjoy the view while you can, you will probably look straight into the St Regis rooms in a couple years time.
Yes, a hotel employee said it was to be a bank building or shopping center.
all in all the monorail ending where it does is sooo much less convenient for making connections and the walk to Sentral made me realize how much of Malaysia is sooo third world(just an observation not a judgement - no offense intended) - while building amazing new buildings, etc.
there just seems NO plan to infrastructure and allowing movement of people. Don't even want to start on the traffic in KL
Just completed my 3rd stay here - 1st stay as a Plat.
Only upgraded to a Premiere room (looks to me like a corner Deluxe room) - I got the same upgrade when I was Gold but without club access. Was told that there are no suites for the entire week. I'm slightly suspicious as both the lobby and club lounge look kinda empty.
I did have to ask about club access, breakfast and plat amenity though - reception didn't have the initiative to inform me. Infact, I was told that plats only get a category upgrade, which was funny because I thought that's for gold and plats get a basic suite.
Fruit platter and candies came at night, and only for the first day. Wasn't even given newspapers.
Is this normal for plats at this hotel? I hope I have better luck as plat at my next stay tomorrow - at the St Regis Singapore (gulp!)
some (all) hotels seem to have their own, independant CRM database. That is what i was told at the Sheraton in Brussels. The result is that once you stayed at a place with a certain status, that status, while updated in SPGs central CRM database, remains the same in the hotel´s db. so, maybe that is what happened to you at the LMKL. and they only half-heartedly corrected it when you showed your card. (i.e. the fruit stuff, but didnt update your record)!?
