As I noted elsewhere, Expedia didn't seem to recognize the existence of at least one Four Points hotel, the YVR airport location. What good is a service if they don't recognize all a chain's properties?

Shareholder, are you referring to Four Points in Richmond, BC? When you search with "Hotel Wizard", make sure you select "in and around a city" and select "Four Points Hotel" under hotel chain preference.Or search "Four Points Hotel" in Richmond, BC. These queries will locate the hotel you are looking for...

This could be a bug with Expedia's search engines but what do you expect from MS? Not all search engines are created equal and some engines are better than other.

This is great.

I should pick up 8000 starpoints from this.

I can just as easily book stays on Expedia's web site as Starwood's.

Just finished booking my 4 stays for Nov.
What an easy way to pickup 8000 starpoints.

Alright, I was finally able to locate Four Points in Richmond, BC on Expedia and booked my stays there. However, their computer seems to have trouble with Canadian adresses and I had to fake a US zip code (Expedia rejects letters in Canadian postal codes and demands only numbers!).

Than I went to book a third Starwood hotel, this time their new Sheraton in Montevideo, Uruguay. Expedia didn't find it though I know it exists because I had already booked it directly on Sheraton's site.

I'll call the 800 number tomorrow, but I do find this (Expedia) a rather difficult site to do bookings on. But I suppose one must work a little harder for those bonus points.

Expedia is a rotten booking engine!

I've been trying for hours to book the San Francisco "W" Hotel on Expedia to participate in the promo. But, I cannot find it.

I've searched through ALL SF hotels, looked under Starwood, and looked under "W Hotels." Not to be found.

So, I call 800-EXPEDIA. No help. They said, "I can't help you. We can't book rooms that aren't on our site. It's probably a small hotel that we just don't list."

Is 450 rooms small? Is Starwood not a chain? What gives?

So, I emailed them as they suggested. Supposed to get a reply in 24 hrs. Now going on 2 days and NOTHING.

Starwood, it's only a promotion if members can actually USE it!

Carberry,

Expedia customer service sucks. I had some questions previously about some other promotion they were running and asked them questions by e-mail, but never received an answer.

Mark:

Just follow the link the dilbert posted to start this discussion.

No codes, just book your stays on expedia, basically 1000 pts per stay, except the 3rd stay is worth 5000 points.
