Promo: 2013/Q2: SPG Double Take : Double Points + 500 App-booking bonus, May 1-Jul 31
We’re excited to announce the details of our newest promotion, SPG® Double Take, coming soon.
- Earn double Starpoints on all eligible stays.
- Plus, earn 500 additional bonus Starpoints for stays booked through our spg.com mobile site, the SPG App for iPhone or the SPG App for Android.
All earnings are from May 1 through July 31, 2013. Stay earnings are at over 1,000 participating hotels and resorts worldwide (a list of properties that opted out can be found on our Double Take page). The booking bonuses are eligible at all Starwood hotels and resorts that participate in the SPG program, regardless of whether or not the hotel is participating in this promotion.
Earnings are unlimited, and the registration window will begin late April. In the meantime you can visit spg.com/doubletake to learn more, and to sign up for a text message reminder alerting you when registration begins (text messages are available for U.S. and U.K. members).
As always, would love any feedback you have about the promotion.
Best regards,

I have a couple existing promos during the period. I certainly won't be shifting any further business towards SPG. Weak promotion.

pretty meh...
again, i'll take any bonus points they throw my way, though i wish something as small as double points would have a 100% participation

I like the 500 bonus points for mobile bookings, but for those of us with corporate travel departments, this booking option is not allowed.

Are full terms & conditions available yet? Wondering how the bonus will be calculated, and if there is a cap or any other limitations. Also, if I have a stay that begins on April 30 and ends on May 8, will I still receive bonus points for the April 1 - May 8 time period?

would have hoped for zero opt outs for such a simple promo...
the other annoying thing will now be going in and having to rebook all my reservation through the app. I'll take the points any way i can get em i suppose

Double points is nice, but the 500 bonus points puts it up a notch to a 7 out of 10. I hope they fix the app so that the prices aren't always a notch higher that spg.com... that was a pain i had to have manually fixed a couple times last mobile bonus go-around.
Seems like the normal opt-out properties again (SF bay area, dubai, UK, seattle area). germany doesnt seem as bad? or maybe my eyes deceive me. westin chosun, another notorious opt-outter seems to be in for this promo.
One that stuck out to me to was that the westin in herndon, va opted out, but the sheraton down the street (2 blocks away) is in the promo, and i think the hotels are owned by the same guy.
As usual, these promos materially change my stay patterns, and I hope the property GMs recognize that's true for other FFs as well.
