Promo : UP TO 25% off when buying Starpoints, 11 Mar - 30 Apr '13
I have been considering getting the Starwood AmEx in the next few months. With the 25% discount on points starting today, I'm wondering if it's specifically worth getting it prior to the 4/30/13 deadline.

20k points is $525. If I use my hypothetical Starwood Amex, would I get the 4x bonus on each dollar spent? Ultimately, that would be 2,625 bonus points, or 22,625 total for $525, or $0.023/point.
Is it worth it? I usually see that the points are worth about that much.
If I have my fiancee (authorized user on my card) do the same and give me 20k points, could we get that value from the bonus with a limit twice as high?

I was looking to top off my AA account and this is slightly cheaper than buying from AA currently, however not as cheap as buying during an AA promo.
Most C&P redemptions I've worked out for my vacation destinations have been in the $0.02-0.03/point range since the changes to C&P so it would be breakeven for me. In otherwords, not worth the time.

no 4X points as it is processed by points.com
It can be great value if you are using it for full redemption during NYE, eg, Sydney when the rooms are 750+ per night vs. 12k points... and do a fifth night free option as the minimum requirements will be 3 nights....

Buying Starpoints : Save Up to 25% on Starpoints Now Through April 30, 2013
There is a promo allowing to buy starpoints at 2.625 cts per point (minimum 13 000 points).
It is a little better of the 2.8 cts (which is the value I generally use to decide if I use my points or pay cash).
