It's that time of the year again. We close one year only to open up a new one. I will order this by stays first / then nights. I'll keep updating through January, so if you don't have your end of year total yet please wait until you do.

Simply post your year end stays/nights, easy. I bet we have some over 200 night people here and over 100 stays easily. For some history here is 2011 and 2010. Keep in mind that in 2012 with award stays including C&P bookings now counting for stay/night credit we should see an increase in peoples numbers in general.

I took a bunch of my business to Hilton HHonors this year (18 stays/19 nights) because there were some cities to which I traveled on business where their rates were significantly better than the Starwood properties, and because I simply haven't been seeing much benefit from being Starwood Lifetime Platinum. SPG's delivery of extra benefits to me the last couple years has been very hit-and-miss. If there's no reasonably consistent reward, why bother being loyal?

One more left on NYE. Including that, I'll end up at 38 stays and 72 nights.

In my estimation, stretching to 75 just wasn't worth the extra effort / cost (blog post), but I'm curious to hear if others feel different. Too late for 2012, but would factor into my plans for 2013...
