Question Le Parker Meridien or W Time Square?

I booked both properties and received confirmed upgrade in both properties, wondering which one I should keep.

It is a Fantastic Suite with 1.5 bath at the W, or a Junior King suite at the Le Meridien, I may have a couple of friends coming over for drinks in the evening.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you very much.

sorry about the typo, unfortunately I can not edit the subject line...(Thank you for picking it up, LovetoTravel83)

Where in Manhattan do you need to be? These properties are a good mile apart, so take that into consideration.

Parker Meridian is the better hotel, though rooms run small.

W's solicit a noisier, younger crowd for "energy". W Times Square gets an "after work crowd" of twenty somethings . . . if that's you, then you'll enjoy it, if its not, you might appreciate something a bit quieter.

Parker Meridien has a very nice bar & restaurant that's quieter, if you're having friends over for drinks.

"W" Times Square in a heartbeat. Better rooms, better atmosphere. Much nicer experience.

As previous two posters illustrated, I think the decision comes down to if you like the W atmosphere or not.

Having stayed at both I would go with the W unless you want to be close to Central Park.

As said, if you like the W vibe, you'll surely get it there. We stayed there once for a long weekend, and never again, as the noise in the hallways both nights was incredible.

Although we've had small rooms at the Meridien, as well as nice larger ones, we've never had issues with noise in the hall.

W is more convenient for pretty much all of the Broadway theaters. Meridien is more convenient for Central Park.

Good info, will be in either one (unless I find some killer rates at The Chatwal) in a month and a half. I think the W is more interesting location-wise and LPM more so in atmosphere.

I haven't stayed in that particular W but Le Parker Meridien is a very nice hotel. Plus, it has the best gym of any hotel I've ever stayed at . If that's important to you stay at the Parker.

This definitely comes down to personal preference for the area of NYC you think you'll prefer to spend time in. My company is located across the street from Rockerfeller Center, and our corporate hotel is Le Parker Meridien because our clients and colleagues would much rather walk a few extra blocks than deal with the crowd and atmosphere at Times Sq. We hosted our conferences there as well.

The W is a nice hotel, it's just super touristy and noisy and I personally would never recommend it to any of my friends to stay. LPM is close to central park as well as two subway lines, so you can get anywhere in the city from there. An extra bonus is if you stay at LPM you can order Burger Joint from your room for pickup and not have to wait in line downstairs

You need to like both the W atmosphere AND having to wade through times square to get anywhere if you want to stay at the W.

If you care about the room, I think the W suite will be bigger than the junior suite at the LPM.

Otherwise, the LPM is a quality hotel in a good location without the "W Vibe" that is most definitely not everyone's cup o' tea.

LPM Hands down. Times Square is a hell hole that you should avoid at all costs. And I'm saying that as a New Yorker.
