Resort linked - lounge access
In places where there are multiple resorts and they have a linked system - thinking about Hawaii for example. If one of the properties has a lounge and you are a plat, can you get access even if not staying in that particular property?
I would guess that logic says No, but may be worth asking anyway

I believe the Maui properties (Westin + Sheraton) used to have a stay at one, play at all program a few years back (primarily pertaining to the pools), but this is no longer the case. So I doubt lounge access would be permitted.
The Sheraton Waikiki has a lounge (a great one) but its only for Sheraton guests. Its true you can eat at any of the SPG hotels in Waikiki and then charge them back to your room but lounge access is restricted.

My guess would be no if the villas are some sort of a time share property as those stays don't seem to count for stays/nights or for other SPG elite benefits such as upgrades IIRC. In a sense, part of the profits from those rates go to the unit owners rather than a Starwood hotel, so it's not really part of SPG.

I would have to leave that for individual properties to decide. But officially your Platinum membership would not take effect if your stay is not considered an eligible rate a property is offering.
It's not a resort, but IIRC the Sheraton Convention Center and the Park Tower LC in Buenos Aires give Plats access to the lounge in the Sheraton.
That's a change for the worse! When I was there about a year ago the Park Tower had its own fantastic breakfast in the second-floor restaurant (called St Regis for some reason). They also had a small-scale cocktail hour there with delicious pastries and finger sandwiches (but no cocktails!).

IIRC the dual louge access is mentioned somewhere in the master threads, but last week there were reports that the lounge offered F&B only at breakfast time.
