The Element DFW always treated me well when I stayed there. But I never used the shuttle so no idea how flexible/responsive they are to pick-ups and drop-offs.
The Sheraton MCO was a dark, depressing place when I stayed there in 2004 or so. No idea if it's any better now...probably not, because it wasn't like the hotel was in poor repair or anything. Just dark and depressing.
What a ridiculous thread. Given the sheer number of airport hotels even if the majority of Starwood properties were awful there would inevitably be some good ones.
I have had extremely positive stays at:-
The Sheraton Skyline
The Sheraton Schipol
The Sheraton & Towers Frankfurt
The Westin LAX
The Sheraton Gateway LAX
I have stayed at many other properties where stays were tolerable rather than great but I have never really had a bad experience at an airport Starwood property.
Surely most airport hotel stays require little in the way of amenities anyway for an overnight layover. I certainly do not expect the 4 seasons treatment and am frequently surprised how good some of these properties actually are.

Agreed . . . MUCH better than the Westin down the road. CDG and AMS are great too (actually nice hotels, not limiting comparisons to just airport locations), but not in US.

All 3 of the DTW Starwoods are very nice. Even the 4 Points was renovated and nicer than most hotels, period. But I prefer the Westin DTW which does have 24 hours room service, and now the new Sheraton DTW. It's renovated, has a nice club lounge, and the staff are wonderful. I went through a Westin phase but now I'm going through a Sheraton phase, even staying there tomorrow night before a flight.
I also like the Sheraton at IAH, but it's been awhile since I've been there. At ORD there is the former Sheraton Gateway Suites, now just called Sheraton, I think. All suites and now a lounge.
In MKE- try the Brookfield Sheraton.
I find it rare, no matter what the brand, to find a really nice airport hotel, but these are the exception that come to mind.

The Sheraton is OK (and was undergoing a major renovation when I stayed earlier this year...
however the Westin O'Hare is a superior hotel with a great indoor pool and a superior restaurant. Only downside is no club at the Westin.
Sheraton MIA has a pool table in their laid back Club Lounge (attendant told me it used to be an airline crew lounge in the property's previous incarnation)
Ok, here's a slightly different (but hopefully simpler) question:
Which, if any, airports, anywhere, have an SPG property within walking distance of the terminal (ie, no shuttle needed), the way Hyatt has two properties inside DFW, Scandic has a property in the basement of HEL (Helsinki), and Hilton has a property across the street from BUR (Burbank) and a property connected by a walkway to FCO (Rome).

I am sure there will be more, but just from my own recent experiences,
Sheraton Gateway YYZ
Sheraton Amsterdam Schipol
Westin Detroit Metro Airport
Sheraton CDG
Sheraton Frankurt Airport
Sheraton Milan Malpensa
are all physically connected and walk able from the respective hotel terminals without the need for a shuttle.
I quite liked Sheraton Malpensa. The room I had was much nicer than I expected of an airport hotel and they even gave me quite a big pack of ladies' skincare products.

I really liked it too. Very civilized! Decent lounge too.
And yes, I too would probably not have minded if they gave me a pack of ladies skin care products either. One can never moisturize enough!

LAX Sheraton Gateway. A little expensive, but they have a really good bar/lounge area that anyone would feel comfortable in. Very close to airport if you have a morning flight.
ALoft Tempe A bit far from the airport, but they have a decent bar that ASU grad students living in the adjacent apartment building hang out in. Starbux across the street. Ten minute shuttle ride to PHX.
Either Hyatt at DFW Very nice, very convenient (sorry Starwood forum lurkers)
SFO Westin Depending on room location you might hear the redeyes take off, but other than that, very nice, very close.
