From a property that has a good reputation for treating platinums well, $12.50 credit at the restaurant ($25 for 2 people) or 2 drink vouchers. $12.50 is not going to get you very far (FD told me a "continental breakfast" is a juice and a muffin), seems like they want to bait you into buying more. I have a bad feeling a lot of properties are going to use this strategy.

They have always had hot breakfast in the morning in the lounge, in addition to the continental breakfast and two hot entrees at dinner. I was there this past Monday. I am currious to see if it changes in two weeks when I go back.

Oh no. I thought I'd read that there were brand expectations laid out for this program and that, at minimum, they were to include a juice, hot beverage, fruit, and a bread/cereal option.
Is that not correct? Can a lurker confirm that a $12.50 voucher at a W would meet minimum expectations?

A juice, coffee, fruit + bread option a la cart would easily cost >= $20. $12.50 is somewhat insulting.

At the W South Beach, I think $12.50 would get a coffee and a bowl of cereal. You'd be on your own for juice or anything more. It doesn't seem like that was the intent/spirit of the SPG benefit, does it?
I'd appreciate clarification on standards on this point.

Checked in 2/29 at Westin Mission Hills - asked about opting for the breakfast as amenity even though a day early and they said ok. Gave vouchers for continental bfst for 2 in cafe. No dollar amount specified. Wife used it today and said they apologized for the buffet not running but there was a $14 continental bfst item on the menu that she ordered and said was good and complete.
Le Royal Meridien in Hamburg offered breakfast as a platinum amenity along with the option of 500 points or local gift.
I took the breakfast as it is a decent continental breakfast buffet. They charge 30 euros for it so I think it's a good use of 500 points.
He did mention that because of some type of glitch in the system, I will be getting 500 amenity points AND breakfast but we'll see. If I don't get the points, it's obviously ok in this case.
Breakfast was good. There's a good assortment of food and they even have lactose free milk and soymilk. They also have some gluten free breads as well. There is another menu of items that are also included and has stuff like omelets, waffles, pancakes, congee, etc. I got a vegeterian egg white omelet and it was perfect.
Property: Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Airport Voucher valid for: Continental Breakfast for 2 in restaurant ($10.99) Buy up to full breakfast: $3.00 (full buffet breakfast is $13.99)
Comments: Couldn't tell me exactly what was in the continental (checked in at 2am here and they just launched it today), but good news is that it only costs $3 for the buy-up.
