Because SPG has always communicated to its participating properties that Platinum is the highest earned level in the program. The only way they will be able to differentiate a 75 or 100 night Platinum member is when requests are submitted for those benefits. Otherwise, Platinum is Platinum is Platinum to them.

So if I spend 11 nights at a hotel and I reserve and pay for a second hotel room for my family (but they stay in it)--will I receive 22 or 11 nights worth of credit.

Quick curious ques: Who will pay for the fourth point? SPG or the hotel? i.e. will the hotel feel an additional cost if a 75n+ Plat stays with them as opposed to say a 50n Plat...

Yes, I took advantage of this at the Phoenician last year as well (with an 8pm arrival and departure) and I thought it was a very nice benefit, handled seamlessly.
It does seem as though four "tiers" of Platinums have been suddenly created, and it is interesting that this will be "invisible" to the hotels unless a particular benefit is requested. Furthermore, the only apparent benefit of the 100 night Platinum tier is the ambassador, so those of us in the 75-100 night category will qualify for the highest tier of "in hotel" benefits, is that correct?

Your24 - question re. multiple night stays
It is not mentioned in the FAQ, but regarding the Your24 benefit:
"Time on your side. Also get access to our new Your24™ benefit, which allows you the flexibility to choose your check in time. For example, if you check in at 9 p.m., check out at 9 p.m."
Does this apply regardless the number of nights stayed? Or does it just apply for a 1 night (24 hour) stay?
To clarify:
Obviously if staying just 1 night at a Starwood property and checking in for example @ 04:00 AM on 1 March 2012 will allow one to check out at 04:00 AM on 2 March 2012.
However if for example staying 21 nights at a Starwood property and checking in @ 04:00 AM on 1 March 2012 will this also allow one to check out at 04:00 AM on 22 March 2012?
If the above does apply for multiple nights (as I presume and hope) then it will be great for a lot of my travel which otherwise forces me to pay for an extra night due to very early flight arrivals and departures in the morning to some countries.
