Post your Platinum Upgrade Successes 2011

Westin Tokyo... lucky enough t get a king suite. I love this place. best breakfast around, great club, excellent, proactive staff and management, great location for shopping and eating, as long as you don't mind the 6 min walk to the stations.

Sheraton Cerritos - no upgrade on New Years Eve. Front desk clerk was not up to snuff in other respects either. 180 degree shift from my experiences at this property the week before.

Sheraton Fairplex Pomona - every room is a suite, so nothing here to upgrade to except the top floor.

Sheraton Gateway LAX - pre-arrival upgrade to Exec Suite. After finding a dirty bathroom, re-assigned to a larger suite.

Sheraton Pittsburgh booked a standard room and got a Jr. Suite on the club level (top floor).

But not to surprised since i stayed at this hotel for 100+ nights last year and will be staying at this hotel for about 140 nights this year.

I've spent months at that hotel, here is the thing, 8 times out of 10 if you look closely the toilets will be dirty, generally with urine stains.

The really strange thing is that this is pretty common in the LA area in general. No idea why.

Aside from the frequent hookers in the LAX elevators it is a nice place.

W New York - Union Square

Booked a Wonderful room, upgraded to a Mega. spg.com shows suites available, and I directly questioned at the desk, but they stated nothing available. Not worth fighting the fight...too tired tonight.

Westin Dublin - Booked a classic room, upgraded to a junior suite. Very nice room, more than adequate for a short stay.

Le Meridien Chiang Mai (Thailand) over New Year. Booked a standard room with view (second lowest room on the menu), got a Junior Suite, lounge access and breakfast buffet either in lounge or in main restaurant.

Now at W Kowloon (Hong Kong), booked second lowest room category, got a Marvelous Suite.

Going well so far, 2 stays, 2 upgrades to suites. OK OK I am cheating as I am avoiding Europe and North America :P
