1 Oct - 31 Dec 2010: Exclusive Platinum Promotion - Earn 4 Starpoints per dollar
I'm excited to announce an exclusive promotion for Platinum members where they can earn 4 Starpoints per dollar on all eligible stays. Here's how it works:
- From October 1 through December 31, 2010, any eligible stays or nights registered Platinum members achieve above the minimum requalifying threshold (25 stays or 50 nights) will earn 4 Starpoints per dollar.
- The extra Starpoint is in addition to bonus Starpoints Platinum members can earn for other promotions, such as Every Night Counts.
- There are no limits on the earnings during the promotional period.
- Register now at: https://www.spgpromos.com/FourStarpoints — Platinum's can only start earning the extra point per dollar once they register.
The registration page is open now and we encourage Platinum's to register early since bonusing can only occur post-registration, regardless of when you requalify.
To clarify, if a member requalified in July and registers now, then all stays October through December will earn the extra Starpoint. But, if the same member registers on October 15, then only stays October 15 through December would earn the extra Starpoint.
If a member registers on October 1 and requalifies on October 15th then all eligible stays and nights after October 15 will earn the extra point per dollar.

So with the triple points promotion and using the starwood Amex to earn 2 points per spend you could earn 10 points per dollar. (6 points - triple, 1 point normal plat bonus, 1 point special plat bonus, 2 points per dollar starwood spg = 10 points). Although the extra point may not be much, combined that's a pretty attractive total for people who qualify for this.
