Planet Hollywood left SPG on Jan 15, 2010; not a Wyndham (was rumor)

Just noticed that on SPG under special conditions for Planet Hollywood is the notice that they will leave SPG effective Jan 15, 2010.

No SPG credit or other amenities for anything booked after that date.

Does anyone know if existing reward reservations will be honored? I have a reward reservation booked for February, well after the cutover date.

In all likelihood, it will not be honored. It will be up to the new PH ownership/managment since there will be no way for the property to be reimbursed by *wood.

I'm sorry to hear of this property's departure. I actually enjoyed staying here with the exception of paid gym access and the parking garage being far away. I hope Starwood will add a property on the Strip.

I stayed here dozens of times over the years of my daughter attending UNLV and my employee living in LV. This hotel upgraded me 100% of the time as a Plat. There is nothing they could have done better. Because of the large number of stays I did here and their perfect record, I give them, "my best hotel" status. Most likely I will never stay there again now. My thanks to the PH!

Well, now that's lousy timing… I have to visit Vegas on 1/14–1/17, and it sounds like the Westin is letdown.

Well, there is always the Element in Summerlin, if a Strip-adjacent location is not a requirement.

Not saying that they will or will not honor. As far as I know, that is yet to be determined. But, there is definitely a way for a departing hotel to be fully reimbursed by SPG for any award stays they may have after they deactivate from Starwood's systems.

earing points after 1/15?

William -

Is it clear that any exisiting cash stays will not earn points and stay credit? I have a stay booked 1/24 - 1/26 and want to make sure I get my stay credit. Should I just cancel that reservation and book the Westin?

Thanks.

If you want stay credit, I would stay at the Westin because the Special Condition advisory for Planet Hollywood pretty much makes it clear that you won't get any there after it leaves the system on January 15th.

Wirelessly posted (T755: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D060; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

The date is finally official... huge bummer.

Over the years, 10-30% of my annual stays were here, both business and personal. Now, I can't imagne a single reason to stay at PH.

Farewell old friend!!!
