Lounge in SKG (Thessaloniki)

Leaving tomorrow for SKG. Any idea about what to expect at the contract lounge on my return? Is there entry for *G? Thanks.

Well, I'll be on Aegean as a LH codeshare--does this mean no entry?

Swiss and Austrian at least provide access to a contracted lounge for biz flyers from there and to at least some (even if it may or may not be all) *Gs departing on a * Alliance flight in coach from there.

If you're in coach, getting in (if at all) would not be a * Alliance-required benefit at Thessaloniki. I can't comment on whether LH has made arrangements with Aegean to authorize all * Gs departing on Aegean-operated flights, but if LH doesn't have prior arrangements in place with Aegean for * G coach-flyer's lounge access, then you'll need a good dose of luck to get in if in coach. In business, there are arrangements.

The A3 website seems to have the answers.

The lounge opens at 0430 and it has no showers.
How hard is that?

Not very important, anyway, but given the departure time you indicate, you must be getting to the airport directly from a hotel. Why would you need a shower?

This is a rather small lounge, although it shouldn't be full at this time. If I were you, I'd to OLCI and plan to be there at 6 am, early enough for a cup of coffee. You then board the plane directly from the lounge.

Initially we were planning to sleep in the airport but I am thinking thats not a good idea as I need to be comfortable. So now looking at hotels not too far from the airport.

Excellent hotel and close-by (< 1 km), but for the prices they charge one can get a cab to the centre of Thessaloniki (and back ), spend the night at a decent hotel and have money left for a nice dinner in town for two! Then, the Regency Casino that is "part of" the hotel, will/may even cost you much more...
