Award Nexus searches CO, ANA and AC's websites for availability on all carriers, not just those 3. LH flights often appear. LX, not so much.

True, in particular on LH/LX

UA's Starnet blocking makes is generally worse for UA customers and M&M offers by far more seats to its own customers than to the general *A public.

If the OP goes both TPAC and TATL on the same ITIN it will be considered an RTW ticket, and thus more miles. Plus - two tickets, two stops ex. STL, J class, LX in the mix, and the date requirements make this mission exceedingly difficult.

Using the ANA tool I was able to find J availability on the TG legs of the following:

5/07 STL-***-LAX-BKK
Layover
5/xx BKK-DEL
5/30 DEL-BKK-LAX
Overnight
6/01 LAX-***-STL

But the RJ's out of STL show redeemable in F and Y only, so J on the domestic legs does not look possible.

US defines RTW via number of stops, not direction of travel. This is different from UA and similar to AC.

It should be bookable, as TG is a partner. Only way you'll find out is to try.

You should be able to. TG is an easy *A carrier for reward redemptions; that is why I always search them, especially for multiple F/J seats on the same flight. You need to be prepared to give the US CSR the exact dates and flight numbers you want. For example:

5/7
UA7435 STL-DEN 16:25 - 17:45
UA765 DEN-LAX 18:50 - 20:24
TG795 LAX-BKK 23:20 - 06:40 (arrive 5/9)

5/11 or 5/12 or 5/13; either
TG323 BKK-DEL 07:25 - 10:25
or
TG315 BKK-DEL 20:45 - 23:45

5/26 or 5/30
TG324 DEL-BKK 11:55 - 17:50
TG794 BKK-LAX 19:30 - 21:35

5/27 or 5/31
UA558 LAX-DEN 08:35 - 11:55
UA7351 DEN-STL 12:48 - 15:42

United should interline your checked bags STL-BKK, but you will need to change terminals at LAX. Three hours is plenty of time to accomplish this. On the return, by the time the TG flight gets into LAX. it does not allow for any kind of transfer that day. I would also surely mention when booking the ticket that you will have a lap infant.

In addition to regions visited/total miles, CO redemption rules also define RTW as oceans transited in a continous trip. Cross both the ATL and PAC and it is considered RTW. An example would be EWR-FRA-HKG-EWR.

It appears you may be right, though this may be a recent change.

Or you can sign up for KVS and see award seat availability that way.
http://www.kvstool.com/

When you talk to the US people make sure you ask them to check partners. But since you are only 6 months out it might be hard to get 2 seats. I always start looking 330 days out since that is the earliest you can book. Conversely you sometimes get seats coming open near the end.

Having flexible dates helps sometimes. Some airlines don't have access to award seats on all of the partners.

Most regular booking sites or the site of airline you will be traveling on should show you the aircraft type for a given flight (always subject to change of course).

The award nexus site is awesome! I can't believe I'm just learning about it now. THANKS!

Actually, not true anymore. I have redeemed awards on CO this year (to India in fact), in which I went TPAC to DEL and came back to North America TATL.

I think the biggest problem with OP right now is taht he wants too much with his miles. By all means it is possible, but if you aren't willing to pay for J then it's better if you have some flexibility.

With miles I find that the Singapore - Delhi route on SQ often has one seat but not always two seats likewise for Bangkok - Delhi on TG.

From St. Louis -> Delhi, the OP wants
Stopover in Bangkok or SIngapore
New Swiss Business Class
2 Stops - that is the biggest problem imo,

You may actually want to consider a STL -> LAX/SFO/SEA/ORD/.../ -> (Japan/Korea/Hong Kong) -> BKK (possible with 1 especially with TG but need to book early), BKK - DEL so that is one way, BKK - DEL is generally twice daily so keep that in mind or it has been from like August or something.

The return you are really looking if flying Swiss would be DEL -> ZRH -> XXX -> STL which is also possible on Swiss to find 2J I find that pretty easily especially on the Delhi and Trans-atlantic route.
