About to go Across Pond, which Program do I Use?

I've been with UA program for a long time, but now the least expensive fare to go across the pond to Europe is with CO. I have 0 miles with them but I am wondering which of the 2 programs would give me more miles. This is the Fare Basis Code WH4NCE. Should I give UA Mileage # when I purchase ticket or CO? THis is for the end of June!!!

Thank you

W class gets 100% miles on United Mileage Plus so you can stick to your current program.

Once the two airlines merge it will be one program anyway.

Thank you, I was afraid it would only be half. Do the segments also count? It will be a total of 5.

Yes, the segments count.

Are the flights actually operated by CO or just coded CO? If they are coded CO but operated by LH you might not get 100% credit, for example.

I have 2 options...some are coded CO through IAH and EWR ...the other are UA DEN and then CO EWR.

Wouldn't make a difference right? I was trying to check Milemaven to see if there are any offers currently available but the system is down.

Can't believe I am about to pay 3x ($1400) what I paid a couple of years back to fly to MUC nonstop from westcoast UA hub.

The important thing is not just whether they are CO coded but also whether they are CO operated.

The code doesn't matter. With the final destination being MUC you're going to be fine on the domestic US flights. The flights you'll need to check is the EWR-MUC flight. If it is on CO metal then you are at 100%. If it is on LH metal then you need to figure out how the CO W maps to LH metal and then figure out what that earns on UA. If it maps to U then you'll earn 50%. If it maps to E you earn nothing. If it maps to anything else you earn 100%.

Assuming you can figure out the operator and the mapped code plug the details in here and it'll tell you the earning rates based on the program rules.
