How to upgrade from Business to First using USAir miles on a Lufthansa flight

To all

Last week a colleague of mine called United and requested to use miles to upgrade herself to first on her Lufthansa flight.

I have a transatlantic flight on LH next week and was wondering if anyonme has attempted the same using USAir FF miles on a LH flight?

You simply have to call USAIR and see if there is upgrade space availble. They should-if there is space- be able to upgrade you right away!

Your questions is normally better placed in the US forum.

There is something called the Star Alliance Upgrade program where members of Frequent Flyer Program can use miles to upgrade on other *A carriers.

However, not every carrier in Star Alliance participates. AFAIK US is not part of the program so you can not use US Air miles to upgrade LH flights or not use other programs miles to upgrade on US.
