Madrid to Valencia. No AVE between these cities?

Hey folks

I just checked the AVE page on RENFE http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/lar...cia/productos/ and it clearly says

Madrid Puerta de Atocha - Cuenca Fernando Zóbel - Albacete Los Llanos - Villena AV - Alicante/Alacant.

Madrid - Valencia AVE

However when I try to look at tickets, there is no AVE service and the train seems to stop at every little pueblo on the way. It takes +6 hours.

Is there or isn't there an AVE service on this route? Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this.

I just did a quick search on loco2.com and it shows lots of AVE trains. Trip as short as 1:38

Thanks very much both of you. I had a look on loco2.com for my date in October and it said it was too early to book. So perhaps this was the problem with the RENFE site too.

I think you can only book for dates within something like 90 days

You are certainly far too ahead. Whilst there is a generality of being able to purchase from about 90 days ahead, this is not a rule. Monitor on a weekly basis or as you see fit.

Yup so I gather now. I wasn't looking to buy it just yet, just figured that searching for it would be a reasonable way of checking it existed. It had not occurred to me that they did not load inventory up so early.

Thanks again for everyone's comments
