Triple credit on leisure weekend or weekly rentals through June 30, 2003 (or a double upgrade if your prefer). Nothing about a flight being necessary to get the triple miles.
Dollar is having a double credit offer (1 credit instead of the regular half credit) for rentals up to June 30th. The promo was announced today in the Rapid Report on Southwest.com. but started on April 1. There is a code you will find there to use when booking. You have to rent a minumum of a luxury car class and above.

The Hertz offer I posted above March 30th requires a 2 or more day rental for leisure weekend for ANY CAR CLASS every time you rent through June 30, 2003. My last one just posted as quadruple miles for the leisure weekly, 1.5 with a separate .5 on my Southwest account all stating Hertz rental with the same dates. I haven't done the weekend rental so I don't know if it will post this way or just as triple points as the offer indicates. You also seem to get a 10% discount over regular rates by entering the CDP code.
I rented April 5th-11th on a weekly at Hertz with this promotion, and it posted as of Friday April 18th. So, one week after my return. My previous one in February only took 2 days to post. Hope this helps! (now if only Choice Hotel credits would post-but that is another story entirely)

I did two weekend rentals, one Sat eve through Mon early morning at TPA in early April, and one Thu aft through Sat aft at OAK in late April, and both posted at 1.5 + .5 (so 2 credits total!) the same way. Both were compact (next class up from economy) rentals.
Also, in my online RR Account Summary, the 1.5 line's "description" field says "Hrtz Triple Cr 1/1/03-9/30/03", which implies it may be valid through Sep 30 now rather than just Jun 30?
