Excellent!

Just as I am starting to book/plan my Q1 travel.

I expect to earn 18 - 30k minimum points per week during this promotion. Too bad it isn't double tier points (to the rest of the country) like last year.

Can someone help me with a question? If I just registered for this promo today, and I have 3-4 trips in the system for February 2013, do I need to cancel those reservations and then use my TTF funds to re-book the trips to get the double-points? I'd be essentially cancelling a flight, getting a credit on TTF funds, and then using the credit to re-book the flight with a new record locator number to get double-points. Right?

Yes...it specifically states

Valid on new reservations only. Travel must be booked on southwest.com®, swabiz.com®, or any Southwest Airlines distribution channel between February 4, 2013 and May 15, 2013.

Yes. You have to cancel/rebook in order to get the double points. If you've purchased Early Bird, you'll lose it and will need to re-purchase.

I hope they bring back the double TQP promo for CA soon. I will need them to have any hope of re-qualifying for A-List this year.

1200 points are worth about $20 at 1.67 cents each. So if you need the points to get A/A+ or CP its not a bad deal.

Does not apply to A/A+ or CP:

"Bonus points are in addition to the standard flight points earned through Rapid Rewards. Bonus points will not count toward A-List, A-List Preferred, and Companion Pass qualification. "

Heh I wish. It's just between SF-LA, two areas Southwest probably won't be needing special promotions.

I think I figured out my reg. problem. I reg'd for the MKE promotion just cuz- even though I never figure I'll be heading in or out of there. Looks like it's tied to the nationwide double points so I reg'd then came back here to look for a link and didn't notice that reg was a 2fer.

...just sharing my experience.
