I take it that was booked as a connection. Would the low number of the second flight be an indication that check-in is done at T-36 of the first flight? I'd think there would be more interest in EBCI for a long flight out of a major connecting place like MDW. Unless this was at an Anytime fare, in which case A26 for the first flight could be surprising, but maybe there were many A-listers.

You are correct, it is a connecting flight out MDW. The flight is a WGA fare and I booked a about two weeks ago and bought EBCI at the same time.

Well, there was no one for the first 20 positions, so I boarded # 6.

BUT, for my flight back today, I'm B 29!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES! I'm so upset because I need to bolt out of the plane and catch the train home at night. I'm just going to be one of those people who takes a middle seat in the front of the plane!

Thanks, benmaller, and Welcome to FT. For this thread in general, it's good to know:
  1. Does the flight take connectors? If you don't figure it out, post the time of the flight. Out of major connecting airports like MDW or BWI, it probably takes connectors unless it's in the earliest morning.
  2. Was it on an Anytime fare?
  3. When did you buy EBCI?

As an aside, look at the NON EB thread. Almost all checking in at T-24 have been getting mid level A boarding passes. I got three with highest A 51, so would have wasted $30 if I did EB on all. Espcially since the first on can save seats for the others if only 1 gets an A pass.

I will not use EB unless I am on longer flight (+2 hr) AND can not be around at the T-24 time to check in.

Of course, over time if more use EB and puts those that check in at T-24 into the higher B group, I will modify my criteria.

Mike, Seems like you wasted at least $20, as you could have saved a seat for your wife. But I bet you could have got 2 A BPs in any case If you were able to log in at T-24 and saved $40

Oct 3, SFO to PHL via LAS. A23 on first leg, A22 on second leg.

I was traveling for my company this time so the cost is not a factor and I like the convenience of not needing to check-in right at T-24. However, if traveling on my own I probably would save $20 and checkin at T-24.

Wife (CP) and I (WGA), EB purchased 5 days ahead with 15 minute difference, received A-26 and A-27 respectively for Oct 4th WN 659 LAS-OKC. Successfully received the LUV Seats (11D/E) both times we boarded, since the plane was taken out of service due to hydraulic leak just before door shut. Received a replacement -700 for our broken -300 in about 1 1/2 hours.

EBCI today T-23 for flight tomorrow, RR tix:

PHX-HOU (flight originates in PHX): A27
connecting
HOU - ISP (flight originates in MAF, and stops in DAL in transit): A-23

This is definitely worth $20 RT for me for this long trip.

If you were already at T-23 then why pay for EBCI instead of just checking in? I don't believe EBCI provides any priority just an earlier window beginning at T-36.

I believe the poster was stating that at T-23, when PRINTING/RETRIEVING the BP.....

I don't believe EBCI can be purchased later than T-25.

Hello,

I just checked in for an EB flight at T-23 and got B-24. How could that be? I thought the whole point of EB is that you don't have to be online to check in at exactly T-36 or T-24? I paid for EB 2 week ago.
