120k UR Transfer & Companion pass!

Not knowing enough, I transferred 120k UR points to RR.

I learned that had I transferred via Hyatt I could earn a Companion pass! But it seems there is a points loss in transferring from Hyatt to RR - 20k Hyatt would only gives 9600 RR. So I would have got only 6x9600 RRs = 57,600 RRs

Am I missing something?

Are there any other better use of UR points?

Southwest stopped allowing hotel (and other partner) transferred points to qualify for CP on March 31, 2017.

You won't earn companion pass via Hyatt, either (that ended 3/31).

Curious, was my math correct transferring via Hyatt?

If I earn via credit card sign up, will it count?

The only credit card points that count towards CP are points earned on purchases or signup bonuses on a Southwest credit card

UR transfer tom Hyatt at 1:1 and UR transfer to Southwest a 1:1 so there is no need to go through Hyatt.

I transferred 120k on Mar 20th - so had I did via Hyatt, I would have got only 56k RR?

Sounds about right but why would you make a UR/HYatt/Southwest transfer ?

50k UR > 50k Hyatt > 30k RR.

Less than 50k Hyatt goes at a lesser rate, 5000 > 2400 WN.

Anything posted pre-1/1/17 about hotel/Diners transfers to WN for CP is completely obsolete.

Technically rapid reward dining points and the shopping portal are "credit card earned" CPQP too for those who are wondering.

Not the same thing since these can be earned with any credit or even a debit card.

Not at all as you can earn those SW points without even having a SW credit card.

The credit card portion ( if not using a SW card) does not earn any SW points.

You're correct, but the message I was replying to said:
"The only credit card points that count towards CP are points earned on purchases or signup bonuses on a Southwest credit card"

Which could easily be construed as "the only way go get CPQP with a credit card is through the RR Chase cards", especially by someone already confused by the UR to RR conversions. I was simply stating that you can still earn CPQP with a credit card through the shopping portal or the dining options.

By your logic I guess I should have also mentioned every way to earn WN points, car rentals, hotel rooms, dining ..........any method where you can pay with a credit card and earn WN points for the PURCHASE but not for using the non WN credit card itself.
