They only got 4 of the 9 available slots so unless they have money to burn, it would be a waste of resources to set up a new station for just 4 flights--unless than have staff at LAX or SNA that are idle part of the day and could commute down to LGB for the few hours they would be needed. Fares out of LGB are already low so not much can be gained with just 4 flights.

Which is a moot point as there are no more mainline aircraft slots--only commuter slots--and WN has no ERJ75 or smaller planes to fly into LGB. They would be capped at 4 flights with very slim margins to pretty much any US destination.

B6 does use their slots. The slots only need to be used 50% of the time. There are seasonal flights to ANC and other places which are obviously not popular destinations in the middle of the winter that do bring traffic when the weather warms up. B6 also wants to start international service from LGB if/when that is finally approved.
