RR CC offer, 3k bonus w/$5k spend
i just got a flyer in the mail YESTERDAY saying that I would get a bonus 3k points for $5k spend from 10/1-11/30. wish they would've sent it before 10/1. However, I have 2 RR cards (personal and biz) and it doesn't specify which card since it's a mass produced mailer. Did anybody get this too?

Nope, but I recall getting one many years ago and others getting them too. Discover sends me a $100 come-on to spend once a year. Obviously its to spur usage of a card that you rarely or never use and you aren't going to get it if its in use. Its very profitable to be the house even if you have to build an expensive glamorous casino to attract customers...

My goal is to fly and stay for free.
IMO there are many better ways to spend $5K
I just finished $5K on a SPG for 30K and $5K on an Ink for ~75K UR and am in progress on an Arrival $3k spend for $460
Unless you can't ( or don't want to ) get other cards I don't see much value, Just grab a SW CC and get 52 K plus for spending $2k on anything you want.

If a person can't or doesn't want to get new cards then this may be a deal for them. For me personally it's an awful deal.
I have an excel spreadsheet with every card I have had in the past 3 years on it so keeping track is simple. Most cards I get are less than a $5K spend.

I got the same offer several months ago and exercised it. It's true that the points/dollar ratio is nowhere near as lucrative as a signup bonus, but as it came with a card I already had it required no hard pull on my credit record and no increase to the total number of accounts & credit limit I already had open. Plus, I was looking for CPQP points anyway. I found it to be a good deal, all things considered.
