Delays at PVD 8/28 Aftenoon/Night
On the news here in RI, they are reporting there may be some delays at the airport tomorrow afternoon and night as Obama is visiting RI for a $15K-$30K a plate fundraiser. Air Force One is landing in PVD early in the evening and cause operations to come to standstill while the president is the area according to the news.

I can second the part about car traffic. AF1 flew into Houston/EFD about a year or so ago and traffic on I-45 around the HOU area was absolutely gridlocked for about two hours. Fortunately I wasn't in the area to catch a flight but it took forever to get home that day.

Mr President cares nothing about travelers when He travels.
If He did he'd fly into smaller nearby airports and use Marine helicopters to get to or close to his destination.
Surely someday the GSA will account for all the unexpected costs to the economy that are spread elsewhere on travel. He's a major disruption at any commercial airport.
All this travel could be simplified....

In this day & age of security and electronic surveillance, is it really necessary to have a 30 mile do-not-fly ring surrounding one guy everywhere he goes?

At least AF-1's planned arrival was late and didn't disrupt the noon block. Though there was one DL aircraft pushed back on Bravo that had to sit for a looong time before they could taxi.
