Woman sneaks on SJC-LAX without boarding pass, arrested at LAX

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local...270076971.html

Managed to get past the TSA document checker and get on the plane somehow.

She had tried unsuccessfully at least 5 times at SFO over the past months before trying at SJC.

You both beat me to it.

Here's a thread from back in March about her earlier stowaway efforts: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/san-f...iff-times.html

I post earlier. You should check this out. She is at yet again! She sneak onboard the aircraft without ticket again. What embarrassing I am. I am very disappointed. She will not allowed to go to airport anymore. She is going to jail for 6-months. She violation her probation. She will spend more time. They will file her restraining order. She have stay away airport property by approximately 500 feet. They will banned her to come at airports for life.

Already checked out and shared

A part of me envies her persistence... though it may be better used in achieving different goals, IMHO.

I wonder how she did it.

Also a deplaning passenger on Southwest would not normally have a Boarding Pass since Southwest collects them. I was on an Airtran flight last week and I forgot they gave them back. The GA called me back to hand it to me. Odd, that same GA also handles Southwest Flights.

Southwest flight attendants noticed something was wrong after the plane landed at LAX. The crew did a head count and realized it did not match their records, according to the airline.
I though they counted passengers before the plane took off.

Probably the count was off by 1 and the flight attendant just chalked it up to a miscount.

My understanding is that she stayed onboard at LAX to continue to plane's next destination. That's when the head count got her.

LATimes:
After an initial review, the TSA said it has initiated "minor modifications to the layout of the document checking area."

Southwest could face regulatory fines in connection with Monday’s incident, a TSA official said.

This lady is doing it all wrong. She needs to tweet about rude flight attendants and agents (by name) in order to get free travel.

TSA dropped the ball completely on this one (as they usually do). What a farce. Security theater.

Absolutely. Anyone can get into the secure area with a phony or cancelled boarding pass. How she got onto the plane with a valid pass and miscounted on the plane is a double embarrassment to WN, not TSA.
