Got 500 points plus 20% off. SO got 1000 points only. Not quite sure how SW is targeting folks here.

Tried to use it online; couldn't because promo starts only on 31st March; then saw that in the fine-print.

Given that I receive nada from any other airline, I appreciate this, Southwest! and I'll put it to good use!

No love for me, but I transfer in points as needed from UR so I only have only a few thousand points. Maybe they didn't send it to those who have small account balances.

+1 Can't complain that's like finding $14 on the sidewalk

Of course it is to compensate for the devaluation, but we pretty much zeroed out our accounts this month.

I wonder if the discount code is transferable. T&C does not say it's not, anyone has experience?

From the OP:

Only the Rapid Rewards Member (Xxxxx XXXXXXXX, Rapid Rewards #0000000000) who received this communication from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this bonus and 20 percent discount redemption code. Offer is nontransferrable.
Is your offer different?

I received 2 emails, both for 500 points, both with no discount code offered.

I checked my RR account balance and sure enough, 500 miles deposited TWICE!

Another data point: 500 points + 20% discount usable on flights booked after the devaluation. I typically only travel solo though so it's much less valuable (unless I find a way to use it for a group). I wonder if this was a factor in the targeting of the discount?

I got garbage.

Although to be fair I haven't given WN a dollar of my travel budget since the devaluation was announced. Just burning through 200,000+ points.

Nothing here.

The reverse of targeted promotions, knowing that Southwest definitely considers me a chump. Up yours, too Southwest. No loyalty goes both ways.

Yeah, 20 years ago you could target promotions in all kinds of ways, by the first letter of a last name, or the last digit in a phone number. Then you could run comparisons and tease out marketing results that would help you. Almost no one would know.

Now when any one of 20,000,000 people gets a promo, it's posted somewhere within 2 minutes. And the non-promo people tend to get at least a little pi$$ed.

Especially when the "targeting" seems to be completely random.
